Although he won only six times, looking at his 2nd and 3rd place finishes he's had a decent career.  Nothing legendary.  Kind of like a Scottie Pippen and Dorian and Coleman were Jordanesque.

Nasser was the Branch Warren of his day.

he was the Fan favorite of the guys who like "mass monsters" but he wasn't ever going to win an Olympia because he lacked polish and detail

Nope, you can make that argument for Ruhl or Fux, but until Branch stays in the top 3 for several years at practically every show he competes in you can't make this argument.

Also Nasser WAS considered an Olympia threat during his best by not only industry officials but fellow competitors too.  It's only the getbig haters a decade afterewards who try denying this.

Again his record speaks for itself , always a bridesmaid never a bride. He had a nice run for being second and third but when push comes to shove he couldn't close the deal when it mattered

It's only the delusional fanboys a decade later who try denying this

6 wins in 53 contests not that impressive

According to you and a few other haters only.

He wouldnt be considered "Hall of Fame" material if he was not succesful and ironically even you said he deserved to be in it a few days ago?

I guess according to ND the Hall of Fame includes the unimpressive and unsuccesul lol  ::)

WOW he's considered for the hall of fame  ::) anyone can nominate a person for the hall of fame lmfao you act like he's been courted by Joe Weider. Hell even IFBB Officials can be nominated

but I like how you tried to shift the focus from his mediocre ability to win contests to the " Hall of fame " it doesn't change the fact that he only won 6 times in 53 tries  ;)

Not shifting focus at all, I admit he won 6 shows out of 50-something, my response was that the individual stat alone does not mean much because he started his pro career early and retired late, so many of those shows weren't at his prime.  Also many of those shows were 2nd and 3rd placings and IMO it is succesful to be top 3 in the world at what you do for years.

You are simply using one stat to try to imply a meaning that is not true.  Using your logic it would be just as succesful if  he got last place in 47 of the 53 shows than what happened in acuality, your logic also suggests that if he retired in 2001 or was born in the US and had to get his pro card there that he woudl be more "successful " (since he would have turned pro a bit later and  closer to his prime instead of entering shows working his way up).

So much weak logic just out of stuborn/bitterness lol

So you agree he wasn't good enough throughout his career to win contests so what's the issue?  ;) he had a long career and couldn't win many contests

I'm glad you also concede he was a habitual second tier pro and he was very good at losing , better at it than winning

The only problem is that the BBers you consider him to be equal to, or better than, all have many more victories than him, OVER him

Flex, Levrone, coleman and Yates all WON a lot of the shows they entered, so your "A for effort" argument holds no water against these superior BBers.

These BBers are often handed the trophy that Nasser was vying for as well, so how was he "successful" ?

I know...it is amusing to watch bobs flail away at reality.

The simple fact that Nasser was inferior just escapes him, he can't even comprehend it.

Something that is successful achieves what it was intended to achieve. Someone who is successful achieves what they intended to achieve

If Nasser intended to place second and third then he was a success  ;)

Again if he was trying to be the second and third best bodybuilder on the planet , he was a success , mission accomplished , but something tells me he was really , really , trying to win but failed to do so on many occasions

being top 3 in world is no failure, i would be interested what all you other guys do that are shit talking nasser ???

he was an amazing bodybuilder, and fan fav i would only dream to be in the position he was back in the 90s,
battling dorian, ronnie, flex, shawn legends, not only battling but kicking ass and taking names  8)

with that said the only thing that i don't like about nasser is that i've read before where he was shit talking dorian and saying he should have only won 3 of his 6.  What an asshole no respect at all. >:(

What the hell is talking with that song "Baby", dude can't even drive and he's talking about "Love" and the "only one for me", kid hasn't even graduated HS yet (is even in it?)

On to the Nasser issue, I kinda stop dealing with this because this will end up being 2000 pages, you can't argue with obsession...

at his best dorian was the best mr. olympia ever but i totally agree with nasser that he didnt deserve all his wins.. i am not sure about 1994, it was very close but still dorian dominated it in a certain way but in 1996 and especially in 1997 it was a silly joke!!..

true 97, being a dorian fan I don't even like his 97 form(exept from back, he looked really wide)

although nasser looked really good in 96 imo I did not see him winning

I wondered what would happened if they gave it to Nasser in 97. would he have gotten even better being so dedicated from being mr o even building a good back( his back imo woulda always sucked in the latspread, but he could have built it thick enough to have a good bdb) and beat ronnie in 98.
