Uh Calorie Reduction or Caloric Expenditure is THE ONLY modus operandi to lose fat.

By counting calories you then know if you need to reduce them in order to facilitate fat loss.


Its really not that complicated.

Tell me, what other way is there for a human being to lose fat?  Magic?

Connelly has lost his mind.  Calories or overall energy expenditure or lack thereof is THE MOST important thing in regards to weight gain or weight loss.  You`ll be hard pressed to find a peer-reviewed study in opposition to that point.

Furthermore his argument is totally around the margins and he uses extreme examples which are not representative of the average person, eating normal food in regular amounts.

Counting calories is just an easy method to use in order to determine if you need to adjust up or down your caloric intake.

The only thing mythical is any claim to the contrary.   So tell me again, what other way is there?

Abstract
There have been statements in the medical and the lay literature to the effect that weight loss occurs more rapidly with diets high in fat and protein asc compared to equi-caloric diets containing large amounts of carbohydrate. In the present study, subjects have been maintained for many weeks on constant calorie intake. At intervals, the composition of the diet has been changed, the fat intake varying from 12 to 83 per cent, protein from 14 to 36 per cent, and carbohydrate from 3 to 64 per cent of total calories. In any given subject, the rate of weight loss was essentially constant throughout the entire study. It is therefore obvious that the significant factor responsible for weight loss is reduction of calories, irrespective of the composition of the diet.

What are you talking about?  I've lost around twenty two pounds of fat and my strength has only increased?  As far as I know strength is a good indicator of whether or not you're losing or gaining muscle mass?

How am I wrong.

1. .5 to 1 gram per lb of bodyweight in protein just to be safe.
2. Start at a caloric amount say 2500.
3. Reduce calories if and when necessary.

Don`t make this more difficult than it needs to be, because it is not.

A lot of bullshit in that video. And let me guess, his magic whey proteins are going to fix all these metabolic problems, allowing one to increase calories dramatically while losing weight/fat.
