I agree with a lot of this - but if he hadn't nationalized the automakers, we would have suddenly had 5 million (or more) people unemployed overnight.  The auto industry was a big clusterfvck thanks to decades of it not being regulated enough.  Those outrageous pensions, guaranteed $75 per hour salary for high school grads, etc.

Obama has done some bad things - but without this move, the american car industry would have collapsed, and he'd be getting criticism because he let 5 million ppl lose their jobs over night (with many more losing them as support roles as well).  Bush and mccain and palin all supported the bank bailout bill - and they would have supported an auto bailout bill as well, had mccain won.

He's at 49% approval rating on Gallup today.  He's been 46 to 54% for the last what, 6 months now, despite lots of liberal moves.  So HALF of the country still love the guy.  49% on election day would be a win (since other candidates usually take 1-2% from everyone).

Sinking, meaning he's not getting his legislation thru?
No.  Healthcare passed.  Stim bill passed.  He'll be trying Amnesty and Crap/Trade (pollution control) next year.  Palin supported both of these - so you know some repubs will come along for the ride.

So, sinking how?  Come 2012, he will have 4 years of world leader experience, so the "he's just a community organizer" card that the Repubs played in 2008 won't fly.  You'll have a quitter governor in palin trying to explain her own lack of experience.  Or Romney explaining why he helped design obamacare when he used it in  his own State of Mass.  And none of the GOP frontrunners have a lick of foreign policy experience.

those polls are a huge turnaround from the last year and they continue to fall.  check your facts too because that rating has varied lower than that in the last few weeks.  even if its up today it's likely to be 2 or 4 points down again soon.

She's the 2012 GOP frontrunner according to Intrade.  Tied with Romney.  And FOX talks about her 24/7.  She's a pretty big deal for the repub party.

FOX may also allude to her in that capacity because it would be a feather in their cap in terms of ratings if they can claim to have a (likely) future presidential candidate as a regular on their network.

I can't see her running.

But, I also doubt that FOX needs to resort to anything like that to help with their numbers.
Their ratings always seem to be pretty solid.
