I would like to officially open this thread up for discussion exclusive to those of us that have earned their M.S. in Exercise Science. Lets try to keep this thread on topic in regards to the fitness industry/exercise physiology related discussion. This thread can also be used as a great pool of knowledge for those that are interested in what it truly takes to obtain an M.S. in the field as well as a source of information for the personal trainer without a degree but still looking to develop that cutting edge training technique. I understand that this is a public forum, but for the sake of keeping discussions on topic and this thread exclusive to the masters degree crowd, I would appreciate it if those that lack the credentials and do not have any questions pertaining to achieving an M.S. in the field, refrain from conversing this thread. I do, however, wholeheartedly encourage everyone to read this thread often and check back regularly - even if you are not a personal trainer, you will be sure to learn something that can help your own training.

Once we have a few others in here with the proper credentials we can open this up to discussion.

I forgot to mention, lets introduce ourselves with our full credentials. For the sake of anonymity it is not necessary to publically list your alma mater or current employment.

I'll start:

I attended the dual-major program of one of the top schools in America where I graduated with B.S. degrees in both Nutrition and Exercise Science. I went on to complete my Master's in Exercise Science at one of the most rigorous and competitive post-graduate kinesiology programs in the world. I have been lifting weights for health and recreation for 7 years and bodybuilding for 2 years. Through applying my knowledge of exercise science and human nutrition I have been able to make leaps and bounds in my own training and I hope to step onto an NPC stage in less than a year.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

I'm really not sure what you are attempting to insinuate by posting my picture. I am tested at 9.7 percent bodyfat (Bod Pod testing), and I am displaying my serratus while performing a stomach vaccuum - all while displaying an advanced level of muscularity that is difficult to maintain as bodyfat diminishes. Furthermore, my photo is devoid of any overhead lighting or camera angle tricks which is an environment in which very few have the courage to pose publically.

First off, I am 29 years old and I hold 3 acclaimed degrees and 2 nationally accredited PT certifications - people stopped calling me "dude" almost a decade ago. Secondly, I am 6'2'' and I weigh in at a lean 165-167lbs.

You are conveniently neglecting to realize that I am 9.7 percent bodyfat, tested by the most accurate body composition measuring technology on the market. Most bodybuilders that claim they come into contest condition at 3-4 percent bodyfat are actually closer to 6-7 percent, the lighting and the dehydration does the rest for them. To put this in relative terms, if I were to drop about 3 percent bodyfat and dehydrate myself on a contest prep fluid intake regulation regimen and took a photo of myself tan and with overhead lighting, I would look like an anatomy chart of human musculature. You clearly do not understand body composition in terms of fat percentage vs lean muscle if you think 6'2'' 165lbs is anything to laugh at.

HR I'm 6-0 185 lbs and I'm pretty skinny.  6-2 165 is stick-like.

Also we have to subtract two Internet Inches and ten Internet Pounds so you are more like 5-10 155.
