Getbig.com board member "Vince G" utilizes deceptive marketing to con prospective clients into believing that he is a qualified fitness professional. Vince G. He strategically places two acronyms after his name, in the same vein as those who have worked hard to achieve accreditation such as an M.D. or a PhD. Neither "CSN" nor "MFT" denote any type of collegiate level accreditation nor any type of nationally recognized certification.

First, let us analyze the latter fraudulent credential since the former has far more nefarious and potentially illegal implications. "MFT" stands for 'Master Fitness Trainer.' There is no nationally recognized master fitness trainer certifcation nor is there a collegiate level accreditation of that same name. Upon searching the internet, one can easily deduce that his MFT "certification" was purchased for 100.00 dollars off of an online testing website racket known as Expert Rating."Vince G.:" Do you let your clients know before they pay you that your only qualification to work in the fitness field comes from an online test off ExpertRating.com?

Now let us take a look at his more nefarious fabrication. "CSN" allegedly stands for Certified Sports Nutritionist. Let us analyze that deceptive title; to be a practicing nutrionist, one must first possess a B.S. in Nutrition and then pass a board certification exam. Since "Vince G" does not have a B.S. in the field, let alone is a board certified nutritionist/dietitian what is he doing advertising himself as a nutritionist? On his website, Caliber Fitness, he states that Nutritional Consultations are an available service - what is the name of the registered nutritionist/dietitian that is working at Caliber Fitness to provide the necessary legal qualification to give nutritional consultations to the public?

How pathetic, yet predictable, that when exposed for the charlatan and con man he truly is, "Vince G" has no words to even attempt retribution. Lying about being a licensed nutritionist is a serious matter, and so is deceptively offering nutritional consultations under that guise. I would strongly suggest changing your deceptive "credentials" as well as the services your company offers without a disclaimer before legal action is taken.

The only person he's deceiving is himself so I wouldn't waste your time trying to expose him. He does that well enough with his photos.

Its far more than him lying to himself. Pretending to be a board certified nutrionist and offering nutrition consultations under that deception is a crime.

I'm sorry but I never took any courses from Expert Rating

I have a certification in Sports Nutrition and one as a Master Fitness Trainer from the AMFPT.  I also have a Diploma in Fitness & Exercise from Ashworth College.  The AMFPT certification courses I took are taught at Georgia Perimeter College which is a regionally accredited school and recognized by the US Dept of Education.  Ashworth College is also a regionally accredited school that's also recognized by the US Dept of Education.  While the AMFPT courses were online, Ashworth College wasn't....its the same college textbooks, exams, and lessons that I had when I went to Mars Hill and ITT Tech

As far as my clients are concerned, of course they know what I studied.  Its posted on my website

If I'm going to school for 4 years, I'm going to study something that requires some real skill.  Its personal training...not general medicine... ::)

I agree about the nutritionist part. People with medical problems--diabetes, heart problems, obesity--need advice from a nutrionist, not someone who claims to be a nutritionist (Goodrum). Although I don't consider bodybuilding to be all that complicated, people with serious medical problems need advice from someone who knows their stuff. I can picture Vince giving shitty advice to someone with a heart problem. On top of looking like shit, he is not a nutritionist.

Vince G, why the hell are you wasting your money on all these certifications and ITT?  ::) With the amount of money you spent on all that, you could have probably received a BA in some field of exercise science from a decent college.

Certification & ITT = Epic waste of time.

As far as my clients are concerned, of course they know what I studied.  Its posted on my website

If I'm going to school for 4 years, I'm going to study something that requires some real skill.  Its personal training...not general medicine... ::)

Taken from the AMFPT official website,

The AMFPT certification procedure is:

1. Enroll online or by mail.

2. See manual login instructions on your e-mail receipt and on screen when you finish.

3. Access the online manual and exam.

4. Study the manual and submit your exam whenever you are ready by e-mail or mail (there is no time limit).

5. Receive notice by e-mail with your test results and score.

6. Your certificate, wallet card and letter of recommendation are sent.

7. Your name and email are added to the AMFPT trainers page.

-----

More from the AMFPT scam:

Become a certified Sports Nutritionist and add to your training expertise. Expand your business into creating diets and selling supplements to your clients. Help them with weight loss or gain, muscle building, and sorting out the supplement maze. You'll learn how to set up your consulting service, what to charge, and have convenient forms, diets and questionnaires to give to clients. Only $79.95. 3 credit hours (3 CECs)

Sports Nutritionist Certification $79.95. Click link to enroll.

-----

The AMFPT has absolutely no national recognition nor accreditation. It is just an individual man who decided to make money off of those that were too lazy to put in the work to get a real certification. Furthermore, your Ashworth College "degree" has no validity in a real world setting. The Ashworth College "Fitness and Exercise Course" (which can be completed through the mail) is not an M.S., a B.S. or even an Associate's - it is a "Career Diploma." Once again, another worthless scam certification, completed at home used to decieve clients into believing you are educated. Are you aware that providing nutritional consultations to clients you have scammed into believing you are a registered nutritionist is a criminal activity? You are in a deep hole right now, honesty is the key.

That is why online certifications lack any validity and generally any accreditation. One can easily just search on google or look in the accompanying text for the answers to every question. Do you really believe that a person such as "Vince G" who criminally decieves people into believing he is a nutrionist just so he can steal their money or "The Coach" who dropped out of college and lies about actually had the dedication to study for, and legitmately pass, an exam?

So far from what I've seen, everyone on here is more qualified than you. Until you can prove otherwise, it's hear say and you're a waste of time. Prove it. You can't even answer an elementary question on training, physiology OR exercise science. What kind of loser stays up till 3am posting on here during the week UNLESS they are on drugs?

Not really sure what your problem is with Coach.  To compare or include his name with Goodrum is criminal in itself.  Coach has 20+ years of actual experience and a list of success stories, his own successful business and obviously the educational background to support his techniques.  Goodrum has nothing.  he has no success stories, no experience, no business to speak of and his physical appearance is appalling for someone who is supposed to be a PT.

You on the other hand can definitely talk the talk but so far you have not proved anything you have said about yourself is anything but made-up.  You still have never even said what schools you went to.  How hard is it to scan your degrees or take a photograph,.  So far all you have proved is you know how to use the power of the internet to disguise yourself and make yourself something he is not in real life.  Until you show proof of who and what you are no one on here really gives a shit.  But like Goodrum, you seem to come back for more beatings.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, only a complete moron or the biggest loser in the world would waste a good part of his life (6 years) to get a MASTER's degree in FITNESS, anyone with an iq higher then 70 would have spent that 6 years pursuing something worthwhile like physics, chemistry, biology, literature, calculus, medical degree, dds, etc.

not a fucking personal trainer making $18/hour after a 6 year master's course, LOL

If you are planning to make a career out of something get a respected and relevant qualification. I don't give a fuck what you may or may not make... take it seriously and I'll take you seriously.  Success will follow...

I'm sick of this online course bullshit... HR and Basile have opened my eyes a bit. Its fucking messed up to say the least.

This is the point. For most, it's not a career. It's a job you take until something better comes along.

What percentage of trainers really make it a career? My guess is 10%.

Tell me about it.  I don't have to hide my AMFPT certifications because there are other folks like IFBB pro George Farah who has the same credentials.

People can go and talk about degrees and studying but the majority of my skills in personal training came from 9 years of real work experience.  I did it on the side for 6 years because I already had a well paying engineering job and now that I do it full time,

I do the job well, I have lots of satisfied clients and customers, and I make enough off personal training to make a living off of it.  If you wanna hate on that, then so what.... ;D

ITT Tech was for Engineering...not personal training.  I'm not going to spend a ton of money on a job of a personal trainer.  Its not specialized enough
