It's not surprising.  The Republicans are shooting themselves in the foot.  They have helped mobilize this group by spreading misinformation to the public about Obama and his so called "socialist agenda" (btw how many socialists cut taxes to a majority of citizens? Anyway my point being that they have helped create this 'party' but have done nothing to build on that support for their own party, it's a my enemies enemy scenario because the republicans are still stuck in their ways as corporatists and the tea party are demanding a change from that.  Hence the backlash against Obama.

Where have i claimed it put us in this mess?  I didn't agree with them because they were largely a handout to the wealthy - The Bush tax cuts were skewed dramatically toward the wealthy. In 2004, 60% of the tax cuts went to the top 20 percent of income earners with over 25% going to the top 1% of income earners. Those numbers have increased since then as the cuts to the estate tax have taken effect. - not written by me BTW.  But that doesn't mean i believe they were the reason or cause for a financial meltdown.  In light of the Iraq and Afghan invasions the tax cuts make even less sense though and did weaken us by placing us in a deficit at a time we could ill afford to be in one.  There was more than one party, president or cause for it.

And just so you know, those are people who are employing poor people. So it really was a tax cut for them too. The only badd thing about the Bush tax cuts is that they werent big enough. The taxes are still higher than they were after his dad raised them in 1990.
