Because not every woman who breastfeeds uses a pump. It may not be practical.

Maybe I don't know a ton about breast feeding, but how could using a pump at home and having a bottle togo not be practical?

because a lot of the time the baby won't take a bottle and the mother HAS to feed straight from the breast. Sometimes it's the other way around, they don't want to feed from the breast after having the bottle, so some mothers don't want to give them the bottle so that there is no difficulty with breastfeeding. Some babies don't have an issue and will accept both. But it's not uncommon for a baby to reject the mother after a bottle is introduced. Yea, there's probably more issues than you're aware of.

When you say "bottle" I assume you mean a bottle filled with breast milk, which would require a pump? Some women don't use pumps. Pumps take a lot of work, especially if you don't have the gi-normous one they use in the hospitals. It can take a while to express milk using a pump. And when they do use a pump it's for things like the night feedings, or sitters. That's assuming the baby will even take the bottle.

If by "bottle" you mean formula, some mothers don't use formula while breastfeeding.

240, that doesn't explain the people who are just dead set against it taking place in public. We have at least one in this thread. We both know that a breastfeeding mother is showing less breast than a chick in a bikini or even than some dresses and tops reveal. They're probably against that too

This type of person is going to be against it in public no matter how the mother does it. If we have them posting here, you can bet they're out there. I wouldn't be so quick to blame the mother.

i dont care if ppl do it in public - but I can understand why a wait staff, on easter morning, might get upset at the situation.

She looks like trash, in my opinion. Her "baby daddy" screams at wait staff, and they are asked to leave. They go home and start a facebook page about it.

I dunno, to me it doesn't pass the smell test. I think it's a case of a sensitive staff on a busy morning, dealing with 2 trashy ppl.

I'm talking in general, not just about this case. Because this case is one among many that have happened over and over through the years. Also, I'm not going to look at how they look and decide they must be in the wrong because they look like trailer trash. That's kinda lame.
