Steelers listening to offers for Roethlisberger?

Embattled Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger(notes) may have gotten out of his current jam without being prosecuted by the law or suspended by the league, but his team is apparently extremely unhappy about the bad public relations he has brought to the team.

Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson is reporting that the team is at a "tipping point" with Roethlisberger. Team ownership is apparently "shaken" by how much Steelers fans are irked by all the bad press their team is getting.

It's extremely hard to think the Steelers will actively shop Roethlisberger and replace him with backup Dennis Dixon(notes). But the team is apparently open to listening to offers for the quarterback that has taken them to two Super Bowl championships since he joined the Steelers in 2004.

Pittsburgh presumably would listen to offers up until the draft next week.

All  of what players are getting in trouble with today   are things that were swept under the carpet (turf) back in the 70's.   The bar situations were an Oakland tradition with the Raiders!   QB's forcing themsellves on young ladies sounds new to me   but who knows what happened "back then".  So when I saw what Terry had to say to Ben via all over the nation....I wondered WHAT DID BRADSHAW DO BACK IN THOSE DAYS?

i doubt it's true but steeler beat writer ed bouchette reported that the rams could possibly trade 2 number 1 picks for ben

i'd make that trade in a heartbeat but i don't think the rams are that dumb, and i'm not high on bradford and clausen

i would like to see him go but only for the right deal, nothing is harder than finding a good quarterback

and peyton manning once sat on a womans face with his bare ass, if you actually went to high school you should know that the top jocks normally aren't the nicest guys

I created a thread about it.  I think he's a good addition.  He's not a WR1.  He'll be a good role player, stretch the field a bit for Crabtree and Gore, and be good in the return game. 

I hope we draft Spiller at 13, but I've been hearing he might go in the top ten.  That might be why they made this trade.
