theres just to big of a risk for Dana...yea they would make a ton of money,,yea it would be the most watched MMA event in history,,,but his whole WWE type hype machine gimmick losses all its luster and credibility if even half of the fights don't go his way....It will never happen unfortunately for us the fans...

Dana already tried having his fighters fight another organization when he sent guys to PRIDE. They got destroyed (and that's saying it nicely) and ended any chance of that happening ever again.

I put Pride at a higher quality then strikeforce though.

But yes I doubt it will happen. I do think the fedor fight will happen somehow.

On another note, was does Diaz make annually? I don't think he gets paid fuk all. I mean, at best I'm assuming he's pulling in 50 g's a fight? Only the top guys like GSP, Fedor or Brock and the likes make 6 figures a fight, correct me if I'm wrong though. MMA fighters get paid shit compared to boxers. That's one of the reasons Dan Henderson left UFC. Not sure how much more he makes per fight though. Would guess he made about 100 g's last night but again, correct me if I'm wrong.

Dana wanted to sign Mousasi, but he resigned with Strikeforce because he can compete in DREAM and pursue his boxing career.  He's making enough $$$ that he plans on retiring at 30.

Dana wanted to sign Alistair Overeem, Semmy Schilt, and Manhoef last year, but they were making more $$$ in K-1.  Alistair is fighting in Strikeforce next month.

Fedor is part owner of M-1, so he is making more $$$ signed to Strikeforce with the co-promotion and he has the freedom to compete in DREAM and Sambo. Fedor is rumored to fight Josh Barnett in DREAM on New Year's Eve.

He's 25 right now and is still big in Japan.  FEG takes care of it's fighters.  For instance Ray Sefo bought a $4million home in Las Vegas a couple years ago and Ernesto Hoost said K-1 made him a millionaire.

Not very realistic. If you gave me a couple million right now I would still be working a job every day. Being set for life and not working requires massive amounts of money and knowing what to do with that money. Mayweather, Holyfield, Tyson, ect all live extravagant lifestyles.  If Mousasi makes $2million by the time he's 30 he can live off interest alone.

Hidehiko Yoshida is retiring later this year.  Back in '03 for the Pride Grand Prix a Japanese company paid him $250K for a gi patch. In Japan some fighters can make a shit load of $$$ on endorsements because fighters are like our equivalent to Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods.

but i am a boxing fan through and through and i never have felt the appeal of mma


the fighters are tough and in awesome condition.....but boxing is a better sport to me......more of a strategy involved in boxing....points scored......an actual style and form to boxing.....mma is an organized bar brawl.....it is all the rave for 20 somethings and some middle aged folks.....but give me boxing with manny and floyd and tyson and ali and frazier and leonard......spinks..... .and the list goes on.

i realize boxing needs to be uplifted out of its current state of lackluster.....but here is manny p. bringing the sport back......it is good to see what he has done for the sport.......mma is a junior high fight.....high school fight......organized bar fight.....just don't get the appeal at all.....that being said mr dana white has done a fantastic job of marketing this sport......he has done a fine job.....must give him credit......but for me.....BOXING RULES!
