the later model taurus' are okay, decent actually

Yes they are....but the NEW Taurus that Vince posted a pic of is a badass ride.

I know most Getbiggers drive Lambos...so I'm sure I'll get hacked for calling it a nice car  ;)

Listen to chimps Vince he is batting around .435 now knows his stuff.
LOL. That's my fielding pct.  ;D

My point is: cars are no real investment (unless you're getting, like, a Bugatti or Aston Martin DB5.) so get something that will last a full 10 years, and then get another.

Every 5 for me. I get sick of a car after 2-3 years so once year 4 comes i'm done with it. 5 years max

Well, you're farther to the right on the Getbig bell curve than I am. My Da today asked me how many k's the new car had, and how it was running? I said 'have no idea' to both.  :D

I love my Ford Escape.

bought brand new in the fall of 2006, I figure I will drive it for 10 years, 5 of which will be payment free (although there is always the maintainance costs) and then buy a brand new one again.

saving the downpayment will be easy once the monthly payments stop, as I can take most of this money and set it aside for the new one.

nothing beats that new car smell.

except maybe good pussy. but thats another thread 8)

I'll do the honors, "hack"!!!

Some reason when I think "badass ride" Taurus just doesn't come to mind.

First car I had was a 91 taurus station wagon.  Burgundy, no AC.  I was 16 and 17 and treated it like shit, as it deserved.

Props for buying American

It is a great idea to get a car that you can also rent from Alamo, Hertz or any other place.  If you ever need a part just go rent the car for a day take what you need off of it and replace with your part.  Believe it works.  I wrote a "treatment" and had it sold if I finished it.  Would have made a very funny show

Matt Canning, I may not be rich but I'll be damned if I ever drive that rusted piece of shit with faded paint anywhere.  Car has so many rust spots that it looks like it caught a case of the measles.

There are so many other options in getting a decent car that you should be embarrassed for even going around town with it.  I hope you got yourself another car

Well the local dealership is offering me a 2008 Taurus with 56k miles for $12,900 and I think I'll go ahead and get it.  I'm keeping the other car as a spare car.

for 56k miles, I would pay $9500 for a taurus instead

Business is booming...and I don't care what anyone else has up here.  D.A ridiculed me on Off Topic Radio about me driving a Taurus compared to his Corvette.  Yet, months later he had to move out of his place because he couldn't afford the rent and make payments to his ride along with losing his contract with GAT.  Now he has to figure out how to make ends meet again which he prob will but he'll have to tone down a bit on the expensive stuff.

I watch my money like a hawk and I don't spend it on things that don't matter and you never know what could happen in your life....especially where I live.  People mostly drive pick up trucks and Mustangs around here...no one gives a sh@#  so why buy a Mercedes when you live in the middle of nowhere.... ;D

Go to hand it to Vince. He's a persistent one. Nothing seems to phase him. I give him a lot of props for going out on his own and working for himself. That's not easy. I don't care if he's not making a ton of money or what. At least he can support himself whatever his lifestyle. And He doesn't have to answer to anybody he doesn't want to.

Delusional about his physique though but what the hell. No skin off my scrotum.

that's because he's mentally ill. Mentally ill people tend to be very persistent in their troubled behaviors and cognitions.
