The guys ranking higher are fairly nice (nice, in a political sort of way), and more intelligent than average. No doubt about it. But the grunts tend to be kinda stupid, often brain-damaged and violent.
H.A. Northern California is the original, old school club. There is definitely some meth use with them, at least in the past, but a member is NOT going to be "shooting coke and morphine" or whatever the fuck was said. Junkie type behavior isn't supported within the American Hell's Angels, and it damn sure isn't going to happen within the Northern California sector.
It was happening.
The guy wasn't a straight up junky though. He definitely was injecting hard drugs, but he also seemed to have the habit somewhat under control and on most days he was in pretty good control of himself and acted like a respectable guy. He went out and got shit done and he was a tough guy who would look you right in the eye, and all that stuff. He didn't really strike me as a junky, more like a guy who just liked to party very very hard.
But yeah, morphine, coke and pills were really popular in that house. These were guys with 1% tats and all that. Going on drug binges for 3 or 4 days. But all of them also lived active lives. Of course they weren't just junkies doing nothing but drugs all day every day.
