What has Natural Bodybuilding taught you..?
« on: May 01, 2010, 01:35:29 AM »
I have been thinking of writing that topic many times before, and the time has just came!

I have been living the natural bodybuilding live style since January 2005, and this is what I have learned from it:

1-It tought me how to be patient and shows you nothing comes without pains and sacrifices.

2- It arranged my daily schedule in a professional way that make you respect the time very well since timing plays major role on it.

3-It takes me to bed early at night and wake you up early in the morning.

4-It keeps me concerned about your nutrition and always look for the valuable food and drinks and avoid the non essential food and drinks.

5-It makes me a competitive person in life challenges!

6-It makes me wise that you try to be as much as possible away from trouble and problems because you always want to save your energy for your training session

7-It makes you feel happy about yourself satisfied by the way you look and live a healthier life overall.

I may have forgotten something, please share yours with us.

I wish a nice and healthy life for all of you guys.  :)

That it's no big deal whether you're natural or a juicer

That there will always be people who will disbelieve your claim of natural status

That you'll never be as big or strong as the pros

That there are guys who juice who train just as hard and are maybe more dedicated

That it's useless to compete in contests as a natural, unless you don't mind being an also ran who doesn't get anywhere in terms of your winning record

That you need to have the patience of an elephant and be very realistic about what you can achieve, which takes upwards of 15 years of hard effort

That if you do manage to build a decent physique, it does make you feel better

That there are going to be at least a couple of posters who are gonna roll their eyes at this post of mine...

Define 'natural'.

At 42, I'm in near perfect physical health and look late 20's-early 30's. I'd say eating clean and lifting for the last 28 years have taught me that your physique/health doesn't have to decline as you age.

Well, under that definition I would be classified as not natural?

natural bodybuilding taught me that if you work REAL hard, and NEVER miss a meal, and DEPRIVE yourself of many of lifes pleasures, and live the life of an Ascetic

and WORK, and WORK, and WORK, and EAT, and EAT, and EAT

........in a couple of years people MAY be able to tell that you are marginally more muscular then a college swimmer (as long as you have your shirt off and possess good genetics)

Yeah, it's kinda sad. Training without drugs is pretty much pointless.

Nah. I work out 3-4 hours a week and still eat what I like, for the most part. I'll admit like eating clean though and have learned to make eating clean taste quite good. Going out to a greek restaurant tonight for rack of lamb, one of my favs.

I agree with the shirt off comment to a certain degree as it depends on what type of clothing being worn, but the statement rings true nonetheless.

Whats your bf% height and weight?..you can still be "natural" you just wont look like a BB unless you walk around in your undies all the time and then be more "toned"..
We are talking low bf with full large muscles here not a swimmers build.

Yeah, for me to be as lean as my avatar pic I can't be over 175ish.

I've been 200 lbs and it wasn't pretty. Hard to lose that much weight too. I like to stay within 10lbs of my ideal weight these days.

About 175lbs at 5'8".

<----- here

This pic was taken in the fall after I started to add more carbs back into my diet so I may appear a little fuller. I'm flat as hell right now.

Natural bodybuilding has taught me I'll never go pro ;D
I can do very little and over train.
That I'll always be decent but never awesome.

Finally, natural bodybuilding has taught me drugs are only the last 5% ::)

Yeah, that sounds about right. I dropped down below 160 one year I was biking to work daily and had somewhat ripped glutes. My arms must have been 15 inches though.  :(

Taught me that natural lifting is for those that are patient and aren't looking for shortcuts .. For those who truly enjoy lifting... And not just only the muscles that come with it.
choice is an illusion
