Hahaha, you gotta love these old schmucks with too much money to spend and attention craving to fill. What we see here is a classic case of a creepy old dude buying 4-5k+ dollars worth of camera equipment just so he can walk around with it around his neck(amateur, oh brother) and tell people that he's a "photographer", especially to young unsuspecting females(males in Basile's case?). They like to invest in big lenses to use it as a phallus symbol. Of course their actual pictures are rarely seen and even though in the rare occasion you do get to see their portfolio you can't help but think "I could've taken these with a disposable camera". These old schmucks of course love to discuss the specifications of their cameras to people that couldn't be less interested.

Tony Doherty was there according to Lee but I didn't see him there. I asked Alex if he knew who Quickerblade was. Nope.

Yes, that is a 16-35 F2.8 lens. I used it to take shots of the equipment and wide angle shots from higher up. Photography is a passion for me and I always

look forward to sunny days so I can shoot landscapes and bushwalk.

The shots here were taken with my G10 because it has a flash whereas the 5DII doesn't.

This fellow was doing some heavy bench presses at the Integrity equipment stand.

I took a lot of shots of the displays. Here is one showing the Hydra Fitness stand. Not many companies had displays. I guess the professional fitness business isn't that great in Australia. The home equipment business seems to be doing fine.

vince won his country's national title 40 yrs ago, not bad, doing well at your chosen endeavour.
vince also has had numerous pictures published in all the big bbing publications. Not bad, having your hobby pay you, and gratification of some good pics.
he knew and socialized with the greats of bbing such as Arnold, before they became the greats.
I dont know what his camera cost, dont care what he does with it, but if anyone has credentials to be in a bbing expo, this guy does.

The salesmen at the equipment booths don't always enjoy talking to me because I comment on the equipment. Everyone who designs and builds equipment thinks his machines are the best. I have told some of these guys how to improve their equipment but when I return the next year I see the same old equipment. I always give credit for excellence in gym equipment designs. This is the first year I didn't try any of the machines. I didn't see anything new that interested me.

Usually on Saturday afternoon you can't move at the expo. This year the attendance seemed down. In the past they sent lots of free passes to gyms so maybe that accounts for the lack of people. These expos are great for seeing heaps of fitness gals and models. A few top gals were there but unlike our Ron I didn't get any shots this year.

The tall blonds in the yellow tights were two of the best gals at the expo. Right across from Lee's booth.

Lee had steady visitors to his booth. He was in a corner but that didn't matter. He was probably the top professional bodybuilder at the expo.

Look at some of the booths. What have they got to do with fitness? Boxing is quite big in gyms. I don't care for it but my son says many members request it. Gyms have changed and provide many services to members.

I finally met big mouth AVBG. One look at the dude and I told him he should forget about bodybuilding and take up table tennis! Besides, his head is too big for his body.

Alex has been bad mouthing me and my gym so I had to sort him out. We agreed that we can both be assholes on the internet. Just a minute here, did I agree to that? There was no animosity or anything and we shook hands and had a few laughs. Seems like a nice guy. Doesn't look like a bodybuilder but what does that matter. At least he was there hanging around Lee Priest's booth.

I was the master and he was the pupil in real life. Make no mistake about that.

I was there on Saturday with my wife, Amanda. I got some ideas for our 2011 expo in Melbourne and caught up with quite a few friends and sponsors. I thought it was pretty well done but based on aerobics and exercise to music more so than bodybuilding or power sports.

I got to MC some of the stuff on centre stage and did an intro for Markus Ruhl who guest posed mid afternoon. I left Sydney very early on Sunday as my son had his first game of footy in the morning. Lee looked great and there is a big interest in his products. Flex Lewis, Brandon Curry and Monica Brant were all there with their sponsors. Markus came down to Melbourne yesterday and trained in my gym last night. He is a funny bastard and we had a few laughs.
