I live on the gulf coast about on the water...The oil hasn't made it to our shores yet, but expecting it in the next week...BP should be responsible for clean up, its not like they can't afford it... They didn't invest in the remote controlled cap in the first place that could have kept this mess at a minimum... Tourism and the seafood market are already being affected....A real estate company that I do business with has already lost $20million in canceled reservations in one week.

hahahaha, well he "does business" with a company that "lost" $20 million in sales for the week (wonder what they must pull in per week if they can lose $20 million in a week), and $20 million times 52 weeks is over a billion dollars, so he "does business" with a company that can lose over a billion in a year so it must be pulling in well over a billion I'm surprised no one else pegged this quote to laugh at

Is it possible that in the past week the company has lost 20 million dollars worth of reservations over more than a period of a week?

Hey there Cowboy, I never claimed I lost $20 million. I said a real estate company has lost that much money in the past week because of canceled reservations... This company handles the management and renting of condos and beach houses all along the gulf coast. In turn, this could cost my company a projected $300k+ over the next few months.

Think about what you are typing moron...This company does not do $20million in a week, that is just what they have lost this past week...They have people coming from all over the place that rent condos and beach houses for one week to several months at a time.  If you multiply the number of people that already had reservations throughout the spring in summer and have around 70% and rising of them cancel you can get up to $20 million pretty damn fast seeing as how the real estate company handles several thousand properties...

Seriously though, I don't think your claim is unbelievable. Nobody expects the cleanup of this thing to happen anytime soon, so 20million in reservations is not impossible. You didn't say they canceled a weeks worth of reservations that cost $20mil. They could have canceled months of reservations in one week.
