The Rock in Fast & Furious 5:

ComingSoon.net is reporting that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is interested in a role in the Fast Five movie, the fifth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise.
In this movie, Johnson would most likely star as the leading cop chasing down Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker).   
The movie is set to hit the big screen on June 10th, 2011.

How do you think he would fair in a role like that? He's done mostly kiddie movies.

I liked him very much in The Scorpion King and The Rundown and I even enjoyed his role in Get Smart.

I think Scorpion King was his best role by far.

Scorpion King was too cheesy for me, but The Rundown was good.  I've got Walking Tall sat on the shelf, but haven't watched it yet.

i dunno...I just can't see the Rock doing a car racing movie. Cheezy roles like The Tooth Fairy I can see.

He may have some interesting screen chemistry with Vin Diesel.

One thing I’ll give Rock is versatility.
So far, he’s proven he can handle the leading man role in action movies, kids movies, and comedies.
That versatility should ensure him a job in Hollywood for a long time to come.
