Another *ucking Jiu Jitsu injury

Is it me or has this happened to some of you guys before-- Just when you are really making progress and getting yourself in superior mental and physical condition, you end up with some freak injury?

The first time this shit happened it was a badly pulled groin that kept me out for 3 weeks. Now this 250lb juicemonkey rolls under my ankle as Im pulling him into my guard. I heard a snap, I stopped and sat out for a few minutes and then went back into free fighting. My ankle didn't hurt that bad at first, I just tried not to put any weight on it and I finished class favoring my right ankle, but still ok.

I iced my ankle, put on tiger balm, took some asprin and put on one of those futuro ankle braces to stabilize the area. Overall I was in pain, but nothing crazy. This morning I wake up and I can't walk at all and my ankle is swollen to the size of a tennis ball. I end up limping to the ER. They took X rays and said no break or fracture, but I have to walk around in crutches with an air cast on for 5-7 days and follow up with an orthopedic doctor.

This fucking sucks big time. Does anyone know of any exercises I can do (outside of doing some light weights) while I am incapacitated? I really do not want to put on weight and come back slow and out of condition.

Any help is appreciated-

Because you're such an easy target with your constant whining and bitching about your personal problems.  If you're constantly getting hurt in MMA or martial arts you're either :
a)  A big fucking pussy
b) too uncoordinated

It's ok maybe you'd be better suited for something a little less physical.  Not everyone can be a tapout wearing tough guy  ???

Constant bitching and whining? I have been a member here for almost 6 years and I have started exactly 2 MMA threads about my "personal" problems. One about fighting someone with a longer reach and this one about an injury.  Brutal and idiotic exagerations on your part as usual. Do you even train or fight?

Pro fighters and professional athletes in general are constantly getting injured. Let me guess, you're better than them?  ::)

Nothing wrong with getting injured it's part of the game.  But bitching and whining about reach and some juicemonkey being bigger than you is self defeating and makes you look like a whimp.

Again, are you illiterate or just stupid? Where did I ever mention anything about anybody being bigger than me? Try re-reading the first post in this thread or having someone else read it to you. All I said was that a 250lb juicemonkey rolled onto my ankle. I never said I was bigger, smaller or the same weight. I also never complained about him being bigger. I just said it was a freak injury.  Wipe the cum out of your eyes and learn how to read dumbass.

Not totally slow and out of condition-- but just not as sharp as I was before I got hurt. In the past 2 months I have been running 5 miles and doing calesthetics 3x weekly, going to sparring class once a week and doing jiu jitsu twice a week. I was starting to feel really comfortable cardio wise and on the ground+ much better striking. It's rough when you have a set routine and something fucks it up. I know that its just mental and I'll be fine overall, it just sucks to break your routine.

Watch Mundial, Pan Am or instructional videos.

Do some stretching that doesn't involve planting your foot.

Fortunately, I'm not quite as obsessed w/ bjj as I used to be, but it used to kill me to get 3 week injuries. Just don't make my mistake and come back too early.
