5 minutes is a joke to try to find out who's the baddest on the planet.

it ends up coming down to who has the best cardio if the KO doesnt come early..and its a yawn to see 2 sweaty guys grappling all over and gasping for air.

Who was the clown who came up with 5 minute rounds?

itd be a much better spectacle to have 3 or 5, 2 or 3 minute rounds where each athlete can apply some aggression.

itd also be a better match so those with good power and skills can have a chance over those with superior cardio.

they need to change it to give all types of fighters a chance.

ive thought this for a long time.

personally 3 x 2 minute rounds would be great with all out brutality and literally the first minute to the guy with power, the second to the guy with cardio.

They were too long though. Weren't some of Gracies fights almost an hour of an opponent lying on him until he finally sneaked in a submission?

I agree with whoever said these fights should be  like 5 three minute rounds. I think that would create more exciting fights and less gassing out and lying around looking for some cheap submission for a whole round.
