As Mayhem became more exclusive, MD required their athletes to only post there, Rx split and watered down the MD collective knowledge base, and Bodybuilding.com went mainstream and became soaked with "great gains, dreamer!" types....
Well, it seems like the great thinkers were peeled away. The great debates left with them. Instead of all of them being great members here, they became 'okay' leaders slsewhere. Everyone wanted to build the next great message board. I did it too, maybe 5 or 6 years ago with the Boom7 thing with garraeth. Everyone wanted that control, that way to feel empowered when Bob Chick modified their post or so-and-so mod had beef with them. and once the mag editors said "I don't want you posting THERE anymore..."
At this point... I don't know what the solution could be. The powers/mags own the forums. Money's involved now, people who can't write are forced to on their own boards, and aside from everyone getting gimmicks and posting in one place because they WANT to... I don't know how it could return to how it was.
