Why are there so many getbiggers with regrets regarding their marriage

Dont regret getting married because I got my son now but marriage just didnt work out. At the time I thought it was what I was sopposed to do at my age. Get married, have kids, blah blah blah. Being single is great, I am 33 and wont ever get married again!

I know this is a bold statement but I think specificly american but also other people get married for the wrong reason.
You only have to see what the average couple in ireland pays for a wedding - 20k upwards is the norm, most take an extra loan or morgage to pay for their wedding - isn't that just fucking ridicules - and most of them are fucking horrible cheesy.
It might take a little extra work to create a good wedding but it pays of at the end (pun intended).
But my theory in life is anyways that way over 80% of the gen population lack brain power and are just not smart.

I meet a guy a few years back who said he saved for 10 years to buy a house, he finds a girl and gets married to her in a matter of a couple off month, before he knew it all his savings were spend on a lavish wedding - why the fuck?
I mean its one friggen day, you wake up next morning with a hangover and say to yourself - Holy fuck I just spend 20k on one day.
