I'm Starting A Personal Training Business
« on: May 12, 2010, 12:25:49 PM »
I recently trained a buddy at the gym I go to.  I took him from 205 lbs of fat to 178 lbs lean and ripped in a matter of seven weeks.  I think I have a knack for this.

He took the fight last minute and they gave a catch weight of 190lbs. We just weighed in about a 1/2 hour ago. He's fighting Hector Lombard in Bellator 17.

with all due respect coach but i used to be able to , easily, cut 20 pounds in three days...

....then again, I, Literally, didn't eat for those three days and slept in a sauna suit UNDER my sweats AND a winter coat

still, i cut the weight without a professional like yourself

i understand..

in retrospect though, i remember not having to cut my water intake  as much as other people have- the fact that i wasn't eating and using a sauna suit (while sleeping and with my roadwork) helped the most

come on now coach, u know i like you, but there is a huge difference between losing bodyfat over a long period of time and cutting water/dehydrating for a fight in a matter or days, when you'll end up drinking a few gatorades and eating a few meals and going back to your original weight by the nite of the fight.

I was dissappointed to hear that Paulo dropped out of the fight with Hector but I wish Jay good luck.

He dropped out because of visa problems. It's a long story on why Jay is fighting Lombard, but we (me, Brad Blackburn and Anthony Johnson) tried talking him out of it, he wasn't originally supposed to fight Lombard, at least on paper it's a total mismatch like they were setting Jay up to lose. But Jay is one toughest and strongest fighters I know (and also the most hard headed) so who knows, I'm defiantly pulling for him. We have a fight we are going to in Philly the week of the June 11.

After you've helped hundreds of people lose fat and build muscle and self esteem, you will realize it's just a job, not an adventure.

Thats a fact. Especially the self-esteem part. Great way to help people.

I agree...You will soon realize how un-appreciative people are...Most expect you to be a mircle worker and expect 24 hour advice and get pissed when they haven't hit their goals in 2 weeks when they are a fatass...

You don't have to tell that. I'm writing an article at the moment for Tapout/MMA Worldwide, mmajunkie on the effects of dehydration, re-hydration and proper dieting for fighters. FYI, I'm totally against dehydration which is one of the reasons why I didn't want Jay to take this fight.
