They announced his cancer in November and just cancelled the next Heaven and Hell tour last week.

Funny thing is there was a rumour circulating around earlier today that he had died and Wendy Dio denied it. Then a few hours later she announced his death.

I learned Holy Diver from the first issue I ever purchased of Guitar For the Practicing Musician in 84.

Back in the day I used to do close security (bounce) for two bands, Dio and Stryper, two bands totally opposite from one another, one who supposedly sole his sole to the devil (Dio) and the other Christian. Dio's dressing room was a sex infested drug and alcohol dungeon.
