where was the friend going? if the govt pulled it off or had advanced integral knowledge she would have been able to say what flight and where it was coming from...if she knew that why call a friend in san fran?

all the flights departed from the east not the west...if he was going to be on one of those flights he would have had to travel to the east first then back to san fran...

Ok 240, I'll be the mature one and play ball.  I disagree with your opening statement regarding Beck and Palin for speaking at the NRA that it is no different than voting for a politician.  You are not going to agree with all issues, or in this matter speakers.  I can assure you from the several firearm sites that I am a part of that people were contemplating not going because of those two...people just enjoy the expos, and the fellowship with like minded people more.  That's how people that I personally know went feel, and I will be attending hopefully next year.  Complain about their statements...fine, but to lump them with the majority of NRA members(like many ignorant posters here did) is the same level that both FOX and MSNBC love to do.  I thought you were better than that. 

Also, you have said it yourself that people buy lots of guns and ammo when any new president comes into office.  You know as well as I do that this economy spurned a lot of people to take their protection into their own hands.  Yes, people feared Obama's agenda, which is not hysteria if you follow his voting record, but it really wasn't the main factor in the buying frenzy that people like to believe.  Anti gunners love to spew this, but it isn't the truth.

exactly....hell, most of the gun taken away are legal again....and if you want fully auto, and suppressors they are just a tax stamp, and background check away.....even the magazine restriction law is gone.....i just shot a 100 round beta mag yesterday at practice

in texas, all that is needed is a 5 minute call to the ATF, after you spend 4 minutes filling out the paper work...

i havent shot my SA socom in over a year......i use a operator as my duty gun usually, a week ago i snapped the slide release lever.....now i am using a 1911 that i built using a STI frame...i refuse to carry a handgun without a tac rail...

I dont think I bashed the NRA - I think they do a VERY good job of calling out every dem that hints at anti-gun legislation.  The NRA personally won Bush Florida in 2000. 

And yes, the VAST majority of NRA members are highly responsible gun owners who respect the law.

I was hatin' on Palin and Beck for - instead of greeting the crowd, celebrating our freedoms, and praising their continued efforts to keep the Dems a mile away from gun legislation (which would have been postitive)...

instead they got up and bashed on obama, screamed and moaned like bitchy little crybabies, and lied about how Obama is trying to do this or that. 

They could have gotten up and declared "ITS WORKING!" - Because by golly, IT IS!  The NRA and GOP hold the upper hand - the dems are scared shitless of gun legislation - they don't even MENTION it anymore, because when they do (like holder did) they are attacked mercilessly.

The NRA's efforts have benefitted tremendously from the internet - it is working.  Instead of positively pointing this out, these two crybabies reverted to "Obama wants our guns!" fear tactics.

I would rather the GOP and NRA focus upon POSITIVE voices and honest message, not these two goofs.
