I think he did...when you couldn't buy AR or AK style rifles, or anything over 10 round magazines among other things that is taking away guns because it is a direct infringement of the second ammendment of which it blatantly states that right shall not be infringed.  Not to mention the AWB was an abject failure in reducing crime which I'm so glad was allowed to sunset. 

Your suppressor isn't just a tax stamp away...it is a $200 tax and a six month wait for any class III weapon.  A tax for your right?  What the hell?  I hate even saying that...you are not a criminal just because you want a silencer.  While the background check may be appropiate the six month wait is an infringement.  When you have to ask the government to exercise a fundamental right(permits) then it is no longer a right, but a privilege.  Alaska, Arizona, and Vermont have it right, and they don't have blood running in the streets that many people think would happen then if we had true Constitutional carry like they do.  They only have permits(except Vermont) so people can legally carry in other states. 

People have a very real and viable scare/belief about Obama and firearms.  He signed that carry bill because it was tacked on to something that he wanted...every other president has done the same with different bills so to say that he is for gun rights is ignorant at best.  The man's actions speak louder than his words regarding his stance towards the right to keep and bear arms.  Just because he hasn't done it yet doesn't mean that he won't attempt a try at gun control.  I remain hopeful that he won't because I think people would become unglued if he tried that with the state of the economy and country at the moment.

You're first post was not clear and came off as negative towards the NRA itself for having Beck and Palin speak at their annual convention.  Also, they keep the GOP honest as several(including my Senator Graham) have less than an A+ rating.  Not to mention the fact that I have stated before that many people went to see them just to see them...they weren't liked by most gun owners and the people that I know personally.

Yes - his action was inaction.  It rocked.  But I didn't see him delivering a nationwide CCW permit, as many gun owners wanted. 

He just stayed out of the state's ways.  Same as Obama is doing.  That's a great thing, right?  If Obama tried a nationwide concealed carry ban - I would be screaming louder than you, 333386.  But he has not, even with a dem congress.  So I think there's no way he'd try it with a repub congress who would obviously shoot it down (no pun intended). 

For his 4 years (or 8, if you goofs run palin), I don't think he'll touch gun rights.  Do you think otherwise?

Thats silly.Not all conservatives agree on every issue.Newt also supported the bailouts as did many conservatives as they were being told without it our banking system would collapse.Palin wasnt in Washington so she believed the experts.

So guys, can you get together and decide EXACTLY what list of bills you have to support to be a conservative?  Was Bush a true conservative?  He did 3 tril in auto bailouts.
