what was your volume before and what is it now Shareef?
Serious question....like an arm workout before and what you do now.
I agree and i am a low volume guy myself...you will overtrain on high volume unless you take gear
i used to do 3 sets per exercise, all heavy and to failure with very short rests in between, 20-30 seconds with small parts and 40-60 seconds with bigger parts!!..
i do now 2 sets per exercise, the first is very heavy and of course to failure and my target is always 5-7 reps.. then with the second set i use moderate weight that allows me to do 9-12 reps again to failure!!.. so even if i can use the same weight of the first set in the second i dont use it and noticeably drop it to do more reps in the 2nd... both sets are to failure and with perfect form even with the very heavy one.. i still take short rests between sets but not very short as before!!..
so for biceps for example i was doing 12 sets (4 exercises 3 sets each) and now i do 8 sets (4 exercises 2 sets each).. same with triceps.. and i always try to change the exercises i do or their order from one workout to the other to avoid feeling bored..
