I'm an American fella, and I work as an English teacher in Europe. I've met people from just about every European nation here, basically in the bars and clubs, and I know a few Scots, and lets just say that some of them are really fierce fellas. So to the point of this topic, my hertiage is Scotch-Irish (from my father's side) and German-Austrian (from my mother's side) and I guess that I am basically just a metrosexual twink. So the question is, am I betraying my Scotch-Irish roots by being that way, or am I just fullfilling my Germanic destiny?

Don't know if there are any other Scottish guys on here but as for Irish there's Goudy and Okami that I can think of.

I think that Scotch-Irish may be a bit of a misnomer, because they were basically Prodestant Scots and not Catholic, which the majority of Irish are. And speaking of that, I remember meeting one Scotish guy here, and he said that the 10 presidents of the U S of A had Scottish roots. It's for sure that many presidents have had Scottish roots, but I don't think that the 1st 10 did LOL

Haven't spent much time in Scotland so I guess I shouldn't make blanket statements. Had my most memorable New Year's at hogmanay, so that ought to count for something. Only thing I would swap out, in retrospect, is the Aussie bird I was with. I like Connolly's humour too, although he's disliked there I heard. The Scotch guys I've met in Aus tho? Some fuckin' hopeless chip on the shoulder having mofos!

Serious q, no troll: Do you reckon Scottish people are tough to get along with in the long term? The one's I've met are wildly self serving and forever angry about God only knows what. It's like they're at war with the whole world or something. Have I just had a bad run with 'em?

Are you Polish? Well, in my humble opinion, they are some of the most busy bodys I've ever seen, and they seem to have a big hang-up with staring at people. But I think this is communist thing, and not a polish thing, coz I've talked to other foreigners here and they say the same thing about other eastern europeans. Actually it's easier to pull non-polish pussy LOL I'm in a major polish city that gets lots of tourists, and I've had as many non-poles as poles (swedish, italian, spanish, english, irish, and even japanese) Polish women play too many fvcking games for my tastes :<

if you look at the history of scotland - we were catholic for a lot longer than we have been protestant ( the reformation), however that is neither here nor there today as we are a free country where we practice whatever we chose.

as for english masters

without scotland there would have been no british empire.

Before I came over here to Europe I never realized how serious you Europeans take football, in the USA it's called soccer. (Just a little side not for any possible ignorant readers out there :> ) And speaking of this Catholic/Prodasant thing, is it true that the blues and greens are quite serious business in Glascow. And speaking of this Scot that I met who said that the 1st 10 presidents of the USA were Scots, well this fella hated everybody including catholics, jews, blacks etc. Whew! This guy was BRUTAL! And he also claimed to have been with the Black Watch LOL Yeah I'm laughing now, but I wouldn't have dared to laugh in his face, coz he was a fierce looking fella and I didn't want to risk getting my ass beat, even though he probably had 20 years on me.
