Playing bass is very easy. You can take bass playing to higher levels and learn complex scales and styles. But playing typical rock music bass lines is very, very easy.
I'm glad you finally qualified your statement. That's more like it, Sekki. Had you said from the beginning that being a metal or rock bass player, your comment would hold a bit more weight. But you did not.
Playing bass, technically, might seem easy. But what about playing in a groove with a drummer, playing more harmonically advanced progressions against someone who may be playing a straight ahead I-IV-V progression, or learning to play slightly ahead or behind the beat? How about hearing a player use a quick change, or using the Lydian scale instead of the Major scale?
Playing the minimal amount of notes is easy, and in a rock setting it is. But just because it's in the rock style does not mean ALL styles, and all bass playing is easy.
