Great drummer, great guitarist, above average singer and bassist. Some CLASSIC all time great songs but not the G.O.A.T. for me.

X2....I think Plant was a pretentious dildo..he still is actually.

Imagine if you put Neil young, Bono, or Eddie Vedder's brain inside Plant's body

Led Zeppelin say they could be up for replacing U2 at the Glastonbury festival in June. The rock legends are amongst the candidates to stand in for Bono and co, who pulled out yesterday after the band's singer underwent surgery on his back. "I never rule anything out," said guitarist Jimmy Page when asked if they were interested in playing.

Alice in Chains, loveeeee them. Rush, they okay. Lately for the past few years, thrash/death metal is my choice. But I really like all kinds of music. I mean one cd in my car is rascall flatts, then Ill put on System of a down, so go figure

Hahahah, LOL no way, I've played in thrash/melodic d metal bands for 15 years :)

I think Plant was the weak link in Zep.....if they had a lyricist who wrote about more than wizards and trolls they would have been better IMO

If you want meaningful lyrics, then listen to fucking Bob Dylan (not knocking bob btw, I think he's brilliant)......but that's not what led Zep we're about.....it was the sound and music they managd to create....they dominated the 1970s, they spawned a million imitators and they're only second to the Beatles in terms of everything that makes a band great.....shit, even the word 'great' doesnt do them justice.....they were so good, that it was just meant to be...divine intervention....like Elvis and The Beatles......and that's your rock n roll history right there....Elvis, Beatles, Zep.....everyone ever since has been trying to chase these guys, but no one has managed to succeed.....

fuck, I'd kill to have lived in Cali in the early 1970s....seeing Elvis at the Hilton one month and Zep at The Forum the next.....and pumping iron with Arnie at Golds in between.....

damn, that's life right there....

Anybody interested in Jimmy Page as a musician and his role in Zeppelin ought to check out the movie "It Might Get Loud" - it is a pretty cool documentary that looks at Jimmy Page, Jack White and U2's The Edge in terms of their unique approach to the guitar and songwriting.

The portions devoted to Page were the most interesting as he retold Zeppelin era stories as well as played some of his best known riffs.  I think this movie kind of flew under the radar in 2009 but is worth a look if you are a fan of any of the 3 guitarists featured.

I'm no expert but I dig White's playing.  Will check it out.  Cheers.

huge music fan H-U-G-E. but it's hard to compare apples and oranges, everyone's taste are different i enjoy led zep but my favorite all-time group is the most underated thin lizzy.phil's music influenced many now a day rockers.

Obviously, I'm a fan of Thin Lizzy; Phil's narrative vocal style and the twin lead guitar attack, but their body of work can't compare to Zeppelin's.

Look at it this way. If Lizzy and Zep went out on tour together in their prime, who would be the opening act?
