I think Plant was the weak link in Zep.....if they had a lyricist who wrote about more than wizards and trolls they would have been better IMO

are you kidding, Plant was one if if not the greatest rock vocalists we've ever seen.

Yeah, Ian Anderson plays a pretty mean flute, but me thinks that Martin Barre's guitar ain't too shabby either :>

I have a cool Roger Waters story....

Way back in the late 90's I was just getting into Satellite installs out in the Hamptons and i got an order from an R. Waters. Really didnt connect the dots at the time. Until i knocked on the door and Roger Fucking Waters answers it by saying  "Hey Maaaaaan, how are you??" and shakes my hand.

He was cool as shit too, helped me move his big ass TV ....got me something to drink...tipped me a hunnred bucks too.

But the absolute BEST was when i was writing up his order in his office, he sits down in a chair right next to me with a guitar and starts playing Floyd tunes...I swear to fucking God. It blew me away. How many people can say they were sitting in Roger Waters house and he played some tunes for them??

PS...his GF at the time was fucking insane...5'9" swedish goddess that was flawless....but she was a fucking BITCH.

"is he DONE yet?.....really Roger"

I believe this is where the term "Blistering Guitar Solo" came from.

Thanks for the upload, check out rorys strat the finish has been totally worn off.

I like his acoustic slide stuff very good blues player, rory dedicated his life to the blues and
his live performing, check out Irish tour 74 or live in Europe both awesome live albums.

Regards

Zeps great, but Floyd is better ;)

One cannot compare those two. They were two very different BEASTS. It's like comparing Zep to Purple, or Sabbath. All brought something different to the table. For pure unadulterated ROCK, Zep take the throne, HANDS DOWN.

Yeah Hendrix did "trow" down. No denying that, but Duane Alman was hands down the best guitarist of that generation. Ask Clapton.

Just recently got into Duane.....check out this solo
