That goal was important...for the first half.

Germany conceded the first goal very close to that and they were in disarray. They would've been crying for half time if that was allowed.

Second half, they counterattacked and destroyed England. Great thrid choice keeper and excellent use of space. Germany v Argentina will be a goalfest.

Argentina coach Diego Maradona believes South America will never catch up with Europe despite the continent's stunning success at the FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa.

South America had five representatives in the competition and all five made it to the knock-out stages, with four of them winning their groups. Meanwhile, European heavyweights Italy and France were not only knocked out but also finished bottom of groups including such minnows as New Zealand and hosts South Africa.

Seven of the 13 European teams bit the dust in the group stages and only Germany, Spain and Holland won their groups. Even so, the club game in Europe is so much stronger and there is so much more money in competitions like the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, La Liga and Serie A, that Maradona believes South America will always lag behind.
I don't think we will ever be a bigger powerhouse than Europe.
Diego Maradona, Argentina coach

"I don't think we will ever be a bigger powerhouse than Europe," he said. "What we have to do is build America and make coaches of lesser countries understand that we must have a clear line for kids coming up. We'll never be bigger than Europe but we will have good players and we must also pay attention to youth leagues and make kids dream of playing in Europe and being ready.

"But they should be in the right condition and (Europeans) shouldn't be grabbing kids at 15 years old who have no idea of what it takes to play in the (European) leagues. Even 16 and 17 year-olds can't do that but in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay everyone accelerates things.

"But a child must know what a football player must know because otherwise this is like stealing money from people," he added. "South America must go on doing what it's doing and the premium is knowing that we are giving great players to teams of clubs all over the world and they are making great money. But you should also know that these players, when they make it to their own national team, they have our support and affection."

WHO HAS THE MOST CUPS?  I HOPE GERMANY CLEANS THIS DOUCHEBAG'S CLOCK.  he talks s##t about pele in past but he is major deep throat b###h for europe!

But they have, they have got giant screens all round the ground that fans look at to see if the camera has spotted them in the crowd, and these screens show a replay within seconds of something happening.Thats why the crowd goes crazy with these decisions, they can see it on the screen but the referee refuses to look up and see for himself.

How calm we were? bro we were shocking they may have been calm on the pitch but they were all over the place in every other facet, we had a good spell of about 20mins in that game...and should have equalised at 2-2...terrible decision.

but seriously i can hand on heart say in 27 years that is the worst defensive display i have ever seen from an england side...it was truly embarassing, and it fucking hurts so much to see those players perform so badly on the world stage. We've been poor throughout the tournament, but if im honest we got thrashed today, and rightly so, Germany apart from Oezul are man to man no way near as good as us, but as a team are seven levels above. They schooled a very poor side, and it fucking sucks to lose in that way...and to our arch rivals Germany of all people.

another four years of fuck all...to say im pissed off right now would be an understatement.

USA- ITALY - ARGENTINA

I dont understand you lot...how can you support different teams? seriously?

you support the country that you're from and that is that, there's no half measures. You might favour another side to do well (as i favour the USA) Its a world cup how/why would you ever support a country that was not yours?

pretty much says it all really...

i was in so much despair with our 'performance' and capello's 'tactical nous'... that i could only laugh, and not cry, when he subbed defoe for heskey  ::) but by then, it was too fucking late anyway.

can someone explain to me why england played so bad?
was the manager really solely to blame?

Perhaps english players are just overrated in general?

Can't go against Argentina. At the least, I expect them in the semis. I don't think Germany is as good as them.
