Romanoff Confirms Job Discussions With White House
Published June 02, 2010
Associated Press

DENVER -- Colorado U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff says the White House spoke to him about potentially taking a job in President Obama's administration if he wouldn't challenge incumbent Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet.

Romanoff said in a statement Wednesday that Obama's deputy chief of staff, Jim Messina, called him shortly after his plans to run for Senate became public in September. Romanoff says Messina never made any guarantees, and no job offer was ever made.

Romanoff says the three jobs that were mentioned were deputy assistant administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean, director of Democracy and Governance, and director of U.S. Trade and Development Agency.

Romanoff says he told Meissina that he intended to challenge Bennet, and he has not talked to the White House since then.

that's a felony.

I heard today that that Penn guy might have exaggerated.  he wasn't even eligible for the one job, being in congress, and the other (sec of navy) was filled 3 weeks before he claimed Clinton gave it to him.  So who knows.
