Who cares,it wasn't a Yankee pitcher.
It was still history in the making.
It was clearly racist, deny the latino el perfecto.
I say most defiantly. I watched this game yesterday and couldn't believe that call http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100602&content_id=10727590&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
I am arguing about this with someone else. Seriously, who really gives a fuck. Its a kids game played by adults. Move on. So, you didn't get your perfect game! WAAAAHHHHH. Life sucks. I don't know, I am not big into sports, so I don't see the point.
The point is that it's only been done 20 times in the history of baseball. And, even more, it would have been the third one this year. So, if you're a fan or not, it has historical implications on the game. That's why it's a big deal.
The arument for NOT having Selig overturn it was that Baseball has had various calls questioned and it is part of the history of the game.If they changed this call they might have to go back considering other close call perfect games as well. The reality is most of the close call perfect games in the last 100 yrs, didn't have the kind of modern, clear video review we have now.1. Overturning the call woiuld have no effect on the outcome of the game as the next guy was out and the game over.2. Change the call and the pictcher gets the perfect game he deserved WITHOUT any negative trade offs.Selig will go down as an even bigger douche should he fail to do this.
What if this play had occured in the first inning?
Shouldn't overturn it. human mistakes by umps is part of the game......now if baseball wanted to start using instant replay on them, that would be a different story.
yes they should, but I dont think they will. "purist" and all that BS.Plus you'll have 500 d-bags coming out tomorrow saying other calls that need to be reversed.
