Wasn't there a story that Bruce challenged Gene Labelle and got thrown around quite easily. He looked fast and had good movement and seemed to have a real interest in all of the aspects of fighting, perhaps he could have done well at welter in boxing or feather in mma. Hard to say though.

Bruce Lee was more of an exhibitionist/actor than he was a fighter. I'm not saying he couldn't whoop some ass but he wasn't a fighter. In college he majored in drama.....

Chuck "I was a professional fighter"

Guy referring to Bruce Lee "And he was not?"

Chuck "No, but he was good!"

I read something else from back in the day, he said the same thing. And he neither said he would beat him, basically he said "I was a professional fighter", and that they both didn't want to go there.

Like most martial arts "experts"...many do well in choreographed attacks, few actually can fight.
True story.

Just the other day, I took out 3 black belts at once, but they were all 8 years old.
Still counts.

Tournaments have rules. Lee didn't play by the rules.
