after  brutal 60 min stairclimber went to run for 20 minutes...already did 60 min run this am...Dear in heaven, for me to run a 6.4 mile is 9.0 mph..i did that for all about um 45 seconds..then ran 7.5 mph for 2 minutes then just ran my usual 5.5 mph..I run faster in the am so I will try longer tommorow

Actually newmom, height doesn't really make much of a difference. The majority of these black dudes from africa who dominate distance running are midgits, 5'6" or so, basically about the same height as the typical muscleman at the gym LOL

Do you practice different protocols with regards to your running? For example, fartlek, intervals, and LSD? (LSD is short for long slow distance)

not really, usually on the last 20 minutes I change the speeds around, for me its more distance than anything. That is how I like to train. As far as trying for the 6 minute mile...I have been amping it up speeds, I gotta say its a good challenge

It sounds to me like you are hitting mainly LSD, it would be good for you to throw in some fartlek or interval training once or maybe twice a week, they would help you to achieve your goal much more quickly.

Cutting back on talking could improve the results on the mile run.

Big Poppa, did 3 minute sprint after running for stairclimber and run...1 minute at 8.0 mph, 1 min at 8.5 and 9.0 mph for a min...holy crap that wipped me out lol
