I train every day. Whether it's sparring or lifting heavy ass weights. I'm always in the gym.

do sets of pull ups and push ups during breaks

failing that, train at a local park or playground

Humans are great at a few things... making excuses is one of them

Anthony Robbins taught us that  ;)

Don't waste money on a gym where you're at (physically) right now. Get "Convict Conditioning" or some other book on bodyweight exercises to get in shape at home.

I frequently take a book or a few study sheets with me to the gym.  And I'm not even in school anymore.  Given the large amount of oxygen and blood flow the body sees in the gym, it makes sense to read a bit between sets.

In grade school, the kids who stretch and walk around will score higher on tests.  Hell, even chewing gum increases oxygen to the brain and kids score higher.

I still remember training 6 years back with the OSI model printout by my side :)

Quit your whining. I combing 14 units in college (pre-nursing classes not some bullshit like art) a full time job doing insurance subrogation and 15 hours per week in the gym. My secret was to sleep less. I get like 4 hours per night usually. I use prami-prexole to help.

My brain gets full.  If I listen to an audio lecture, I have to shut it off for awhile every 90 mins or so.  If not I'll realize I have no idea what the guy just said for like the last 5 minutes.  Video is a little more engaging but still.

8 hours everyday is pretty demanding, especially if it's all fresh material.  Bet you'll be keen to stop for some bodyweight work.  Maybe get a few sets in every 90 minutes or so.

I had to do it all before i discovered the joy of caffeine.

Worked as a teacher/school tech from 7 til 330 daily.
Then drove right to college 3 days a week.

Lift for 45 minutes at university.  Go to class from 630 til 915 nightly.
Band practice on monday night each week.
played shows every Fri/Sat night.
Did homework all day Sat/Sunday.

It was rough.  Caffeine would have made it easier.  I'd just drink orange soda or root beer all day, unaware the sugar was bad and I needed caffeine.

You should simply put 30 min/day towards getting back in shape and ignore bodybuilding as a goal. People start worrying about results then get hurt lifting too much (with poor form) or decide to juice for quick results. I only work out around that much and have managed to stay in pretty decent shape.

No one's paying you money to lift weights. Just ease yourself into the lifestyle change with the long term plan of being in better shape a year from now instead of worrying about returning to a previous physique. One of the best things about the convict book is he's broken all the exercises down into nine steps so even someone unable to do a pull-up/push up has someplace to start.

By "decent" I mean decent but unworthy of the "Soapy suds" thread. :)

pre nursing is to an engineer  what bullshit art is to pre nursing  ;)

plus when i get home at 10:30 pm ..sleep by 11:15 pm, i get to sleep till 4:30 am so i can get ready for my 6 am class...

with just 4 hours worth of sleep...i wont be an effective teacher...

now THIS is a guy that understands....you've been thru similar...i presume
8 hr lecture is actually more like 11 hrs...we'll prolly skip lunch..if u take notes..but thankfully at my level its not all new material...95% we should already know...we r just filling in the blanks..

we already did the major studying and watching lectures where we were green this past winter...NOW  THAT WS TOUGH...every day we felt like a dump trunk ran over us...but its like weightlifting...you build your concentration where eventually u can sit thru 8 hrs of technical stuff straight
here is a pic from then

i intend to partly take your advice...when i cant lift..i'll do pushups and go for a jog...but i still need some sorta goal..long and short term...i'll check out that book soon...

as for juicing...those days r over

ive found my ability to concentrate has actually declined sharply over the years. i cannot get through even 15 minutes of hard focus anymore without my brain wandering off/shutting itself down. i blame the internet and this modern era of 'instant-ism'
