Why is this important?  Did you see the guest list at his wedding?  Rove, Dead Fred Thompson, Hannity, thomas, Rudypoo 9i11iani, etc..  whole bunch of douchbags in general.  So in order to ensure that God himself didn't slam an asteroid into the backyard while the 'nups were going on and cleanse this earth of immoral scum once again, Rush hired Elton John 10% for the music and 90% as the Jesus Shield. 

Of course, the lack of an asteroid (a small one, that would only cause localized destruction) crashing into that event and eliminating the oxygen thiefs is pretty much undeniable proof of the nonexistence of god. 

Take your pick of either scenario.  On the bright side, given Rush's past marriage history, Elton was able to secure a 3 deal future contract with Rush for the next 12 years.

This may come as a SHOCK to you, but most of Elton John's audience DOES NOT SUPPORT gay "marriage".
