I know these guys can always fall back on "guest-posing" for schleps for a few years, pimping their autograph or other nefarious acts, but once a guy is dropped by Weider, he's pretty much done.  Which leads to the question:

If all you know if using drugs, sleeping, eating and posing in speedos for a living, what do you do when that's taken away because you're dropped like a hot potato for the "next big thing".......?

-  "Personal Train" for life?
-  Sell your "Pro-Card" and other "Bodybuilding Memorabilia" on EBay?
-  Pose with "Will Work For Test" signs at freeway exits?
-  Let your companion pay the bills while you continue to "chase the dream"....?
-  Suck up and get a real job and realize people weren't meant to make a living off of taking drugs, working out, sleeping and eating?
-  Become a "Crusader" against the way things are, mimicking Mentzer?
-  Use clorox to supplement previous income allotted for monthly hair highlights?
-  Become an MMA Fighter (if you've already been a "bodybuilder" then being an MMA fighter would cover all the bases in the circle of life for your average meathead)?
-  Beg the NPC to let you come back to retain some relevance?
-  Tell children /little meatheads to not become what you were?

What to do in life when you obtain your dream and find out your dream doesn't want you.  Damn that must hurt......

A lot of these guys have brains as well as brawn.

Kevin English has a degree in chemical engineering, Evan Centopani has an accounting degree, Kris Dim has a PHD in physics, Melvin Anthony has a high school diploma... etc.

90% of the pro's have a skill/education to fall back on.

Any proof that Kris Dim has a PhD in physics? Where did you find out this information?

Anyone with a PhD in physics should know enough about science in general to realize that mass amounts of drug usage, along with being 40-60 pounds overweight 9 months out of the year is a recipe for a short life...

I think 90% is wishful thinking.  ::)

If you’re lucky/smart (when you still looked good) you paired up with someone who has a real job with benefits, retirement, pension, etc. and settle into domesticity.  You can still work as a personal trainer, teach phys ed., coach high school, work at a spa as a masseur, or something similar but your real livelihood is supported by someone else.

Similarly, back when you looked good, you opened your own gym (franchise) and that business supports you in your later years.

Where did he go to school and what is the title of his dissertation?  All dissertation (abstracts) are available online with a few keystrokes.

I don't know THAT many bb's that are this financially savvy.  Some were smart enough when they were "personal training" to get that one dumb client that takes care of their food bills, supplementation, and hell you can stay at my place where the only rent due is bed warming  ::)

Some retired BB's tend to do well in the personal training genre.  You always have these folks who think by training with ex Mr. Goodbody a few times a week, they too will achieve a stunning physique.  Some guys really do take it seriously and get degrees which enable them to run a credible business.  I knew a guy who specialized in contest prep/nutrition and he had a Master's degree.  He was doing really well.  He still kept himself in good shape.

They should also find someone with good insurance to cover HRT, blood pressure and diebetes.
