PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland massage therapist accused former Vice President Al Gore of "unwanted sexual contact" at a hotel during an October 2006 visit, but no charges were filed due to lack of evidence, law officials said Wednesday.

An attorney representing the woman contacted police in late 2006, said Multnomah County District Attorney Michael Schrunk. Schrunk said the woman — who has not been identified — refused to be interviewed by detectives and did not want the investigation to proceed.

The woman, however, contacted police in January 2009 and gave a statement, saying Gore tried to have sex with her during an appointment at the upscale downtown Hotel Lucia, where Gore was reportedly registered as "Mr. Stone."

The National Enquirer first reported the allegations Wednesday, identifying the accuser as a 54-year-old woman.

Gore family spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said the former vice president has no comment. Gore and his wife announced June 1 they were separating.

A police report prepared in 2007 said the alleged incident occurred at 2 p.m. on Oct. 24, 2006. Gore was in Portland to deliver a speech on climate change.

The woman, according to the report, canceled appointments with detectives on Dec. 21 and 26 of that year. Her attorney canceled another meeting scheduled for Jan. 4 and said the matter would be handled civilly.

"This case is exceptionally cleared as (the woman) refuses to cooperate with the investigation or even report a crime," the report states.

The case reopened in January 2009. Detectives interviewed the woman but determined there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations, Portland police said in a news release.

In a transcript of the interview released by the police, the massage therapist said she was doing requested abdominal work on Gore when he started to moan and demanded she go lower.

"I was shocked and I did not massage beyond what is considered a safe, nonsexual area of the abdomen," she said. "He further insisted and acted angry, becoming verbally sharp and loud.

"I went into much deeper shock as I realized it appeared he was demanding sexual favors or sexual behaviors."

She said Gore grabbed her hand and shoved it toward his pubic area. She alleged he later tried to have sex with her and began caressing her before she squirmed out of his grasp.

"I did not immediately call the police as I feared being made into a public spectacle and my reputation being destroyed," she said. "I was not sure what to tell them and was concerned my story would not be
believed since there was no DNA evidence from a completed act of rape. I did not even know what to call what had happened to me."

Detective Mary Wheat, a Portland police spokeswoman, said the woman contacted detectives this month and asked for a copy of her statement. The woman, according to Wheat, said she planned to take her case to the media.

I feel I'm libertarian on some issues, but not others. 

Also, I understand the need for foreign relations, and unfortunately, I understand the need for fooking every nation possible for resources if we want to be #1.  (Repub position)

And I also understand that without a tint of socialism, we'll quickly become a society of 2% rich and 98% improvershed.  (Dem position).  If you dicksticks want to try to force americans to put their social security $ into rigged stocks, well, you're evil.  So the dems are right on some things.

VP Gore asked the woman to massage his buttocks, inner thighs and abdomen during the scheduled 90 minute massage.

She says that during the massage, Gore began to moan in a sexual manner while asking her to move her hands closer & closer to his genital region.

When she stopped, he allegedly became angry & yelled at her before grabbing her hand & shoving it under the sheet covering his naked body, resting it on his pubic region.

After the first incident, the accuser was able to get back to a normal massage routine which she finished without further incident.

However, as she was packing up, she says Gore embraced her, grabbing & rubbing her butt & breasts.

She told police that she recalled feeling VP Gore sexually aroused.

After getting away from this physical embrace near the exit of Gore’s hotel room, the woman continued to pack up when Gore summoned her to the bedroom.

She states that she reluctantly went with him where he soon after grabbed her & forced her to her back on the bed.

He allegedly straddled her, asking for sex.

From there, she claims that VP Gore assaulted her one final time as he physically embraced her again, rubbing her bottom, chest, thighs and pubic area.

She says that she was finally able to convince Gore that she was not going to have sex with him and then left his hotel room at 1:30, two & a half hours after first entering Gore’s hotel room.

At home she called a friend to tell of her experience and later noticed that her pant leg contained stains in the area where Vice President Gore pressed himself against her. She saved the pants, without cleaning them.
