What software are you running for antivirus? .dat files contain the latetest virus protection such as when a new one comes out the files contain the protection. Most Antivirus software today update the files automaticly for you some dont. If not you have to go to the website and download them regulary or you are exposed to new viruses.

I've been scanning with mccaffe and spybot search and destroy. Do you think I'm good to go dawg?
[/quoteYou got to schedule it to run on a regular basis in the software package or run it yourself on a regular basis, know I what I mean G?

There you go man, you got to keep the .dat files updated and either schedule the software to run like a once a week scan or run the scan yourself. I schedule mine to run once a week through the configuration in the antivirus.

I'm using a Mac. The computer keeps timing out before posts are complete. It's happening on the Alpha Forum, too.

They probably aren't still making viruses for Windows 93. :)

It's not something a Mac can catch.

When something tries jumping in Safari just shuts down. Someone tried explaining it once but the hardware/software interface on Macs is different. Also, they aren't in widespread use for networking stuff so fewer viruses exist.

I can watch porn in peace.
