While White and all of MMA fandom lost out on what could've been gigantic fights, the coffin closed on another lingering argument that simply wouldn't go away. It's now official: the UFC is the NFL of MMA. They now house the number one fighter in every single division (bantamweight and above) and solid majority of the rest of the top contenders in each division. That criteria itself was part of Nate's argument about why the UFC shouldn't be considered the NFL of MMA. With that T crossed and I dotted, the debate is over.

Moreover, one wonders if other organizations will even have the capability to ever produce another division leader (they certainly will not at heavyweight). It's conceivable the Japanese organizations, for all their floundering, could produce a fighter who holds the top spot in the lighter weight classes, but it's unlikely unless they demonstrate some kind of unheralded dominance. They'd have to string together a huge line of dominating wins against whatever competition can be cobbled together. And without access to the rest of the highly-ranked division housed Stateside, climbing the rankings ladder to the top spot is going to prove difficult.

I've never really seen you voice your opinion on MMA, I've just see a bunch of anti Fedor/Strikeforce threads and a few UFC nutthugging threads as well.  I wouldn't say your "voicing your opinion on MMA", you are really only covering two topics in all your "opinions".  You're doing a great disservice to the many other facets,fighters and org's that deserve some recognition in sport that is known as "MMA", as opposed to you/Stoolpshr's pro UFC/anti everything else propaganda.  Fedor losing to a "can" is a stretch, seeing as that "can" would do the same thing to either of the 2 guys that are fighting this weekend for the UFC HW championship.  Basically every wrestler in the UFC HW division would be meeting their own demise by doing what they do, your hero peepee chest would be f**ked.

The only thing ruining the board imo is people holding on to the Pride vs. UFC argument that has been plaguing boards for years, even though UFC "beat" Pride and now owns it You guys want a good MMA board? Make sub boards, one for Strikeforce, one for smaller shows etc. Or at least create flame free threads about different orgs, cards etc. Oh and bring back a mod who can actually add so we can bet on the cards again.

I have never debated that Fedor was possibly the best HW of his era.

All I have been saying is that Fedor did not deserve his ranking fighting the cans and UFC rejects that have been filling his roster as of late.

In the end, he lost to a #10 guy and was made to look like a chump.

In simple terms, he was exposed, and he surely will lose his CURRENT #1 HW ranking.

Justice prevailed. Hard to pad a loss to a #10 guy in the rankings.

Thank you Danielson.  I think step 1 in improving the board is to cut back on the flaming.  Not sure why some find it necessary to lash out when someone disagrees with the opinion.

Step 2 will be to bring back the betting threads.  I will try to keep up with putting them up, but I don't have time to tally up results.  Anyone that wants to volunteer for this is more than welcome to.

Step 3 is to bring in more content and news on other organizations be it StrikeFroce or anyone else.  I happen to have really enjoyed this year's Bellator tournament.  The next one will include a women's division.

You need to understand something about my opinion.  I am not anti other organizations.  I happen to have many friends who fight in StrikeForce including my BJJ coach.  That said, I am for having ONE dominant organization so that we can have undisputed champions and unified rules.  I've stated this multiple times before, yet many of the ass-clowns on here interpret it as UFC nut-hugging.  If the UFC folded tomorrow, and all top fighters went to StrikeForce, i'd be fine with it.  As long as all are under one org, I'm good.
