I've been re watching all the series on DVD and have came to the conclusion it's the greatest TV show of alltime. Yes, even better than the Sopranos and the Wire.

Absolutely agree.  7 seasons, not one bad episode at all.  The Wire had some crap seasons, and The Sopranos went through some weird shit for awhile.

The Shield never had a letdown year.

Yeah, season 2 of the Wire was shite and too many dream episodes etc on the Sopranos.

Nothing comes close to season 5 of the Shield and the way they finally wrapped up the show in season 7.

The Wire and The Sopranos were 10x better than The Shield.

Even the biggest Wire fans admit the season five was horrendous, especially because they shifted the focus to the newspaper business.  Everyone was bitching about The Sopranos dream sequence stuff.

Never happened with the Shield.

Gotta agree.  Where the fuck does the newspaper fit into the entire series.  I didn't get what the point was.  Season 2 also sucked.  That whole shipyard waste of fucking time.

Sopranos was entirely a dream.  In the end it was all a made up dream life.  They kind of explain that in the 3rd to last episode when the shrink was explaining how criminals put themselves into these lives that they make up.

Never saw the shield.  Might have to start watching it now.

The Wire and The Sopranos had more depth. The Shield at a certain point got totally unrealistic with Mackey getting away with shit time and time again. Great show, but TW and TS were 50x better.

While Season 4 of The Wire may be the best single season ever, overall, I can't say the series is better when 40% of it sucked.
