Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Roca is no stranger to shredding public policy in his line of work: indeed, rebel music has been the man's lifeblood for decades. Though already a legend in the music world, this is one socially motivated rocker who is not about to stop screaming for change.

De la Roca's latest endeavor, The Sound Strike, pitches him as not just the frontman to the most politically relevant mainstream rock group in the world, but also as the loudest voice encapsulating a charge of hundreds of artists and music groups that have agreed to boycott the state of Arizona over its crackdown on Mexican immigrants.

Since RAW STORY's last report on the group, Sound Strike's list of artists who've joined the boycott has swelled to nearly 300, with new names being added seemingly every day.

Zack de le Roacha =  beliefs ingrained by a dad that went nuts. Explains much.

De la Rocha's father, Roberto "Beto" de la Rocha, played an integral part in his son's cultural upbringing. In 1981, Beto de le Roacha suffered a nervous breakdown, took his religious ideals to extremes, and destroyed his own artwork. When Zack would visit on weekends, Beto forced him to fast, sit in a room with the curtains closed and door locked and help destroy his father's paintings.

Doubt it 333, they aren't a serious group they've stated many times it's all for sh*ts and giggles really.  Sorry buddy you'll have to find some other group to front your xenophobic beliefs.

Wonder if Rage still thinks Mumia is innocent.I mean just because the guys brother testifies against him as an eye witness to him shooting cops,no need to think thats real evidence.Wonder if they still support Peltire[spelling].They are quite a group of anti American scum bags, who got rich from this country and then knocks it every chance they got.Too bad they never saw the end of a rope.

They're allowed to express their views on issues, they are somewhat extreme and almost anarchist in nature, but this is America.  They can say and do what they like provided it is legal.  A boycott is a legal and justified form of protest.

Of course, just like its perfectly fine for me to call Obama a coon.Thats America.Thats freedom. The problem is groups like Rage and other libs think freedom of speech only apllies to them and their issues, which is why they lie and distort whats said at tea parties. As long as its libs protesting its patriotic,if its conservatives its racist, homophobic and hatefull.

It depends on the intent of the protest.  Many libs view it as hateful to exclude rights to homosexual people.  It doesn't mean that anyone can't voice their beliefs against it, just don't cry if others view it as hateful.
