Just read 10 of the articles and there is no indication ballistics tests were run. They conclude because there was a shoot out that same day across the border, that because the bullets seemed to be coming in a downward trajectory they might have come from that...That the bullets "matched" the ones used implied they were run through true ballistics tests, and were fired from the exact same gun.
