i will take your word for it.............because i know NOTHING about MMA/UFC

but one thing i do know is that Dana White is a scumbag and a monomaniacal attention whore...............so perhaps it would be irresponsible to put something like that past him

he is the type of guy whose main concern is the bottom line and growing the sport for its owners.......he could probably give a fuck about the "purity of the sport"

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner, Dana brought in the WWE heavyweight for a reason, what makes people think hes not gonna do whatever it takes to emulate the WWE's success?
He may or may not directly call the winner, but he definatley is manipulating things to make them dramatic, look at Brocks sudden illness, but he was at the Vikings game blowing a horn shortly thereafter, things that make you go hmmmm...... WWE what? hahaha.

THE TRUTH OF MATTER IS THE REF SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THE FIGHT.. brock was not answering back.. i have seen them stop numerous fights for less.. this went on very long.. brock literally went into a fetal position and layed down.. did not attempt to fight back.. any other fighter this would have been stopped.. unfortuantely the ufc is looking more like the wwe.. but boy is brock's stand up weak.. carwins corner kept yelling for him to let him up so he could finish him off.. he should have listened..

Like I've said in multiple threads, Brock is Dana's current gold ticket/golden boy, before he had Liddell, GSP, Penn, Silva..now those names are fading into the past and he's moving in the new guys to replace the old guard.. Just like he once praised Tim Sylvia and laughs and mocks at him now.. Dana has 0 loyalty, he (like blechman) finds his ticket for the year and goes all in on them, mark my words in a year or two no one will remember Lesnar he won't even be mentioned by Rogan (or whoever replaces him) for Dana each fighter has a +/- 3 year lifespan where they peak and then disapear or are ushered out of the UFC like Dan Hardy, Arlovski, Sylvia, Jardine, etc. etc. etc.

Also Dana just doubled the UFC fans/exposure via Brock's WWE following, makes sense that they would point out the wrestler's in the stands like stone cold and the rock, what's an easier audience then 8-15 year old kids spending their parents money on brock merchandise and begging their parents to order the PPV's.. ????

Dana's only interest is whoever can bring in the $$$$ that means people ordering PPV's and buying merchandise, he's 1000 times worse than Fedor's Jewish management. He doesn't give two shits about the sport, he cares about making him and his board of directors $$$$ .

You have just been lower to a Private.  So they show Steve Austin in the audience and you think they did that to attract wrestling fans.  Wow please tell me you are on some kind of drug when you wrote this.  Don't forget the other dozen or more celebrities they showed.  Were they showing then to target their audience too.  Gene Simmon fans must now love the UFC.  By the way, why do you think they doubled the fan base of the WWE following the UFC.  Also, I love your lifespan numbers.  How do you think these up.

I said roughly 3 years when the fighter is AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME like Liddell was around 2003.. I thought those up by watching MMA since UFC 1 and looking for patterns..every big fighter has a run of 2-4 years when they are at the top of their game.. Gracie, Shamrock, Abbott, you name it..everyone gets old and at some point everyone gets overtaken in every sport or athletic event.

I was at the fight - Brock's strategy was to wait it out until Carwin got tired and then take him down and give him a death chokehold.  It worked.

Shawn got tired 4 minutes into the first round after giving it is all. Brock was protecting himself after getting over 50 hits. Like Rocky, the man got respect that night.

Which would you say earned him the most respect?  The part where he turned his back and ran, or the part where he got beat down and went completely fetal?

lol. QFT.

Wouldn't say the fight was fixed, but I dunno why the fuck the ref didn't stop it in the first round. Brock curled up into a ball at one point and couldn't sensibly defend himself

I've been arguing this point for two days...seems only a few people saw the fight clearly without their Brock-glasses on

if it was anyone else, or if the fighters switched places and it was brock pounding on carwin like that, it would have been stopped.

I was hoping Brock would lose

If Lesnar gets out of the 1st rd, his size and strength probably wear out Carwin, but, like most, I'm hoping he gets knocked out.

But the fix theory makes no sense. Even if Brock had lost, he'd get a rematch which would probably be an even bigger draw than the first fight.

That fight reminded me of a football game in which one team dominates the 1st quarter but only comes away with a field goal.

And those who think Carwin just let Brock submit him probably have never done any of this type of training. When you're gassed, you're gassed. You can't do anything. I've seen many muscular bodybuilder types transformed into crumpled heaps of flesh after a few minutes of hard grappling.

Lesnar won fair and square.

If you look at the Ref when Carwin is pounding an unconscious Brock for the last 2 minutes of round 1 you will understand it all

wonder how much the ref got in his envelope before the fight from Dana ;)

Anyone who watches enough title bouts knows that the ref gives just a little bit longer before he stops the fight in ground n pound situations.  Could the fight have been stopped?  Yes.   Am I surprised it wasn't?  No.  It was a title match.

RON, WHAT RESPECT?.. he was totally outclassed in teh standup and he literally fell into a fetal position after turning his back on carwin and running away.. he is lucky carwin gassed out.. but brock did not look any better.. in fact it was laughable his response to the hit..

This fight looked pathetic, seriously this fight made MMA look stupid IMHO, neither fighter was impressive, one running away and turtling in the corner, and the other puched himself out in the 1st round, what the fuck is MMA coming to?

And people like Mindspin hate on Fedor, when they have THAT?  You call THAT skilled? You call that the #1 fighter in the world? Running away and curling into the fetal position?
Seriously, wtf.

Im not defending Carwin.

One man ran and curled up, the other punched himself out so bad in the second round he practically just gave up he was so out of condition. Pathetic on both counts.

No matter how bad Dana wants it to be, the UFC has NEVER had anything the likes of Fedor in his prime. These two were just pathetic.

no, he did the exact opposite of a trained fighter, he ran away from a striker like a bitch and curled up in the fetal position until the end of the round. ::)

lol, you left out the part when brock did a great reversal from his back and just stood up with ease (right after ALL of those punches) and just kept Carwin against the cage like a baby.

but hey, lets not talk about what Actually happened just keep on ranting trying to provoke lol

half guard to mount reversal on Carwin

Carwin holding on for dear life when lesnar just stands up, and people thought it should have been stopped lol. Yeah he looks Done.... hahahaha

And the ref left with $100,000 in his pocket :)

Whereas Carwin earned $40,000 and Brock earned $400,000 not including win bonus
