Here, TYPICAL streetfight, imagine this guy had gone to the ground, he'd have the shit kicked out of him, clearly a trained boxer and dispatched them one by one

Again typical streetfight scenario, against 2 guys, had he gone down its game over for him, stays up and beats them in seconds, rather than rolling round for minutes and ending up in hospital with a head like a balloon.Maybe Mindspin has some kind of romantic scenario like the old west where the 2 duelers stand there alone and everyone watches.

I'm not forgetting anything.  1)  People keep saying that, but it simply isn't true.  Its just a lot harder to eat a shot from a 4oz glove than from a 16.  You said so yourself in part 2.  2)  I would much rather get hit with a bare fist than with MMA gloves.  The gloves protect your hands enough that you can tee off with full power shots with no worries about your hands.  With my 4oz gel shocks on, I can punch full power into a brick wall without hurting my hands.  Its still hard to land that shot on a guy that can try to take you down.  Big Mike had killer power, he still didn't knock everyone out in the first round.  That's because people rarely stand still and let you take their head off.  Most knockouts in boxing are after a guy is hurt and isn't defending his head anymore.  Its very hard to land a shot on the button on a moving strong opponent.  Against a good MMA guy, you have a fraction of a second to land a good enough shot to take the guy out before he takes you down.  And he doesn't even have to get the take down.  He just has to get close enough to clinch, and then it's all MMA territory.  Again, this has all been debated many times before.  In all out no rules fighting MMA has always been and will always be king.

Why do you guys keep saying boxers use 16oz gloves.  They use 8oz gloves.

Watch the real fights that come out of Brazil.  I don't know where people get the idea that BJJ guys just flop to the ground.

Those are not typical street fights. In both cases one guy knows how to throw while the others are utterly clueless.

You should always avoid going to the ground in a street fight but sometimes you can't help it and if it's even matched chances are it will end up on the ground.

When I watch a boxing match so often when things start getting wild the fighters will clinch, which is what you should do. If you start running from punches you give your opponent the space to really lay one on you. So you close the distance and clinch. That's when the ref comes in and breaks it up and restarts the match. In a street fight there is no ref.

Pellius I love you man  but there is not such a thing as a ''TYPICAL STREET FIGHT" .

You're right. But that those examples are exceptions. The average guy can't even throw a decent punch let alone lay guys out like that. Those two guys are no strangers to throwing punches. Considering the circumstances it was beautifully done.

I'm not sure why many here assume that an MMA fighter would instantly pull guard in a street fight ::)  I wouldn't pull guard in an MMA bout, let alone in some bar or parking lot.  Most people have no idea how to fight and simply punching them in the face once ends the scuffle.  If that doesn't work, a trained MMA fighter has the option to punch, elbow, knee & kick.  And of course, you can always take someone down and G&P the shit out of them.  I would bet 99% of people who find themselves on their back in a fight, would panic and end up giving their back.

Of course, in a street fight, soccer kicks, knee to the head, head-butts, 12-6 elbows, etc are all available.  I firmly believe that a trained MMA fighter would do better in a street fight than a trained boxer.

Speaking of boxers, this is a great video:

The whole philosophy of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu back int he 80's at least was that 99% of all street fights end up on the ground and that is when Gracie Jiu-jitsu is superior.  Unless one of the fighters gets in that one knockout punch then very soon the fight will end up on the ground.  A puncher has the advantage is EVERY fight at the beginning.  It is once that other guy who has ground skills gets ahold of the puncher is when all things change.  If a good puncher has a great defense and reactions and can avoid getting pulled to the ground he is going to kill the ground guy.  My best friend growing up was a CIF wrestler and one of the best 191 lb wrestlers in school.  Got a full ride to San Jose State for football and bascially we were the enforcers our friends called when they got beat up.  We were the guys bouncers at every club we went to in the South bay would let us in without having to wait in line and ask us to help them if they needed it.  And we did on several occassions.  I remember one time these two guys wanted to fight us outside this club in Redondo.  What was funny is how much they talked and kept talking about knowing Karate.  The whole time we were walking forward while they kept backing up.  We were trying to get close to them to grab them before they could kick us.  We one of them said "we are black belt in" and before he could say Karate we grabbed them and beat the shit out of them.

The funny thing is I only used Gracie Jiu Jitsu once in a fight at Don Jose's in Torrance.  A very popular club.  This guy beat my friend up inside the club.  The bouncers started to go over to him to throw him out.  I ran between them and as I went by said something like "I got it".  I got to the guy and he hit me 3 times clean as shit in the face.  you literally could hear people gasp.  It was quiet.  I stood there in awe this guy whacked me 3 times and I didn't move.  Well his fasce changed big time when I didn't move and I grabbed him and took him down.  I did what I did in the photo below with Relson.  I just crossed my hands over his throat and grabbed his collar and lean forward.  He was out in a  second or two.  So everything quiets down and a few minutes later a guy comes up to me to tell me the guy was in the restroon and he shit his pants.

Okay those are two of my tough guy stories.  i have always been a lover over a fighter.  Luckily though I was good at both ;)

Boxing = the sport of punching.

MMA = the sport of fighting.

MMA = more exciting and a lot closer to what a street fight would be.

You think 2 guys rolling around on the floor is more exciting than 2 guys trading punches!!! haha!

Well, judging from how fast MMA is growing, and how quickly boxing has declined, I would say most people agree that an MMA fight is more exciting.  BTW, did you see UFC 116 this weekend?  MMA is not just two guys rolling around ::)

If MMA is so big why the fuck are the paydays so small.  The guy known as "The Situation" was just here last weekend to make an appearance at one of the pools here.  Not sure which one.  just to hang out and sign autographs he got paid more than 99% of every MMA fighter in the world.  That includes bodybuilders too.  Tell how boxing has declined except in your world.  Without boxing there would be no UFC.  If the UFC ended tommorrow boxing would still be around.  Give it up already.

And can you explain this photo.  How the hell do you do that to Dana White and still type.  Please explain

Well if I am going to lie I would do it when no one knows my name like you and 99% of the others on here do.  Some of you know Craig Kukuk call him and ask him any of my stories especially since he was part of our "team".  Call Kurt Morlock in Washington.  See I don't need to hide anything or bullshit to seem like I have done something like you or others.  You know my real name I give you names to verify.  Make some calls.  Come back, get on your knees and while you are crying telling me how sorry you are for thinking I lie I will be eating a bowl of Capn Crunch.  Mindless has his own agenda on here.  He gets 50% off ticket prices if he can continue to suck up to the UFC and Dana.  So he posts every hour to make sure he doesn't lose that honor ;D

You're telling me boxing more closely resembles a street fight than MMA?

its pretty close. While MMA has kicks and other usable techniques, you cant "go to the ground" in a street fight because you're liable to get your skull kicked in by your opponents' buddies.
