Was breaking up Pride a good idea !??!?..
« on: July 06, 2010, 11:14:01 PM »
Hell no.... what a bunch of jealous idiots

that greedy little troll dana just had to have all the cards so he gets the fertitas to buy out the best fighting org on the planet and
scraps it... honestly, they could have just left Pride the way it was if they hadn't been so jealous.

What do you guys (except for mindspin/coltrane/stoolpshr) think ?!.. should the UFC have just left Pride alone, or even bought it out but just left it running the way it was and keep the profits ??!

I would have much preferred that the UFC and Pride had remained seperate entities..

Why do you guys always attack the person, instead of discussing the issue?  Even if I had 100 gimmicks, was getting paid by Dana and was a crazy and delusional troll, it still wouldn't change the fact that Pride is gone, the UFC is the #1 MMA organization, Fedor lost and Brock is now ranked #1.

If you don't like any of that, discuss it instead of attacking people with an opinion that is different from yours.

If if wasn't for a little gruop calles Yakuza it would Still be seperate.

They fucked up pride, they were rigging fights which made the owners give up on it, which made the ufc buy it.

ya pride had less rules and had more brutal knockouts... less of that gay wrestling shit that ufc has.. pride refs would break it up and make them stand up if they were gay wrestling too much.

We can discuss PRIDE all day long, but the reality is that if they HAD played their cards right and put on good quality shows, continually, they would still be around today. Unfortunately, they didn't quite do this. At least they have the "Best of Pride" TV shows and some DVD's to remember them by.

I can see how you feel this way, but OBVIOUSLY this was not a successful business plan in the end.

I know you disagree, but the majority of CURRENT MMA fans like the UFC's business model.

This has been proven by their success, even through rough economic times.

This guy wasn't even watching MMA when PRIDE was around so I would take what he says with a grain of salt.

Cards have gotten much shittier since UFC became the dominant organization. We went from cards with multiple title fights to cards that are lucky to have one.

Your opinion is not the majority of today's MMA fans. Fans have shown to prefer more events, compared to hyping up one huge event a few times a year.

Sorry, but numbers and success don't lie. This model that you preferred from the past, obviously didn't work did it?

Please continue pulling opinions out of your ass and trying to pass them off as fact. Got to love watching a Dana White parrot sit there and talk about things he's clueless about.

Just stop, you're embarrassing yourself moreso than usual.

If you don't like UFC or it's fighters, then stop posting on it.  It's getting annoying having to weed thru decent threads only to get to your sour grapes and mindless drivel on how bad the UFC is.

If you don't like it, don't watch it.. and don't post on it.

so you're telling me cards that had multiple title fights (not just one like ufc) and at least 7 - 8 fights (5 on a ufc card) weren't quality ::)

I can't believe this retard is sitting there and actually arguing that people prefer cards with 1 title fight to cards with multiple title fights. He should read over the bullet points Dana White sends him and formulate a better fairy tale. ::)

Your opinion is a minority.

If I am wrong, why is the UFC so successful?

Seriously, give it a rest. You're just embarrassing yourself at this point.

No one with an IQ over 40 prefers cards with one title fight to cards with multiple title fights. It's not even debatable so just move along, gimmick.

Never said they weren't all quality, just said that the PRIDE business model needed improvement.
You might hate the changes the UFC has made to MMA, but like I said previously, your opinions are really a minority.

Hard to dispute when you have one company being VERY successful, and another that couldn't hack it, and eventually sold out.
