What did/will you pay for a ring?
« on: July 10, 2010, 02:23:44 PM »
One girl told me she expects 3 months salary! ??? :o

I expect to dish out 10-15k depending on what I am earning at the time.

Tradition dictates that it is supposed to be one month's gross salary.

Guys pay a grip for a ring.

Meanwhile the guy gets a ring valued at a little over a happy meal.

That ain't fair.

Damn - that's a lot.  :-X

When I bought my (future) wife's engagement ring I didn't know the supposed rule and only paid $700 at a time when my month's salary was about $1800.

Damn Debeers, a mofo didn't have to do none of that, until the diamond industry put it into women's heads.

Why do you have to have one?  Doesn`t make sense.  I guess people still marry morons as there is certainly not a shortage of morons.  I will never understand the incredibly stupid things people do and the customs/traditions they follow for no apparent reason whatsoever.  ???

No, I would just rather invest the money.  Wouldn`t that be a better gift.  "I started a mutual fund for us" instead of "here is a ring".

I paid 1200 for my future wifes ring. It is a matter of love and all that sappy shit lol. Ive offered to upgrade/trade or we for her, and the though makes her queezy. She will always love her 1200 dollar ring, that means more than any 50,000 dollar rock ever could, because shes a good woman.
Were coming to our 10 year soon, and were going strong. Dont belive when people tell u there are'nt any good woman out there. U just have to know were to look. 8)

I think I would still go for the Challenger. Something about it I like.

That new Mustang is pretty damn sweet though.
