I don't see your point, yes blacks have been very influential in American music but i would say the last 30 years Hip Hop has actually been a negative thing for everyone and the public in general.
Any grown man who listens after teenage phase of trying to be kool that still listens to Hip Hop or gangster rap has very limited IQ.
I myself in my teenage years listened to the likes of Tupac but once you hit a certain age you realise these idiots are boasting about killing, having multiple women, being 'hard' and most of all boasting about their personal wealth. Any grown man who thinks that's a positive influence must have low IQ.
This is not to say black music is not good, but with the lyrics involved, it simply disgusts me.
Overall blacks in the UK have not provided much to the economy or prosperity of the nation with the exclusion of sports and music. Not being racist just honest this all can be illustrated with the stats. Sorry in advance if i offend anyone with this post.
Common, Talib, Nas, Kanye (sometimes), Jay-Z (sometimes), Black Thought, Outkast, J Dilla all offer quality music and great lyrical content.
What you don't realize is Hip-Hop has become a money maker, so Record companies are now putting forth garbage to make money. Many of these artists are not that talented (T Pain), but are told to act a certain way, and if you came from nothing or anybody for that matter, and you are told "we'll give you X million dollars to act like this", most people, including you would jump at the chance.
For instance, just look at the American Idol tryouts, one girl said, "just put synthesizers behind me and you can make me a star".

This is such typical behavior that it doesn't even merit comment. Next thing you see will be his mother, 5 aunts, 43 cousins, and his thug-ass siblings on TV crying and wailing and gnashing their teeth about what a good boy he has always been and how it isn't his fault. It gets fucking old.
