Does this bill address any of the root causes of the current crisis?

To big to fail?
The GSE's?
Re-enacting Glass-Steagal?
Not allowing banks to use deposits as "reserves" to trade with?
Mark to Market? So the banks actually have to value what is on their balance sheets so we can see what TRUE health they are in?

No? Doesn't address any of those? Oh, well, the banks win.

it's BS.... but it's another WIN for obama.

He's passing anything he wants.  Repubs need to come up with some better alternatives.

Guess who gets control over the Consumer Protection agency?  Geither and the Fed. Reserve.

This whole mess is right out of this book almost to the letter.   But, ZERO will have his Rose Garden ceremony while we get all of our fees and costs jacked up just so he can claim a victory.

No, he is signing whatever the congress hands him just so he can claim a victory, no matter whats in it.

240 - I swear, i have met high school kids with more sense on economics and business than Obama.  If Geithner tells him to sign it, he will, no matter whats in it.

He is a puppet of the Federal Reserve and Wall Street, don't kid yourself.

He's only "winning" because he has no competition. Let's if he'll still be winning come November.

Yes they did.  The same criminals who orchestrated the collapse of Fanny/Freddy, dodd who got special loans from countrywide, etc, wrote this mess.

by nov, he'll have done more damage than any other president in history.

fin reg, healthcare, stim bill, amnesty, and cap/trade.

Most lib president would be happy to pull off ONE of these.  He'll get them all and retire with his millions, while the repubs claim victory.

The right hates to admit it but Obama will go down as one of the most successful presidents in history in terms of what he got done and where he came from.  He'll be a case study for Poli Sci students for hundreds of years.

 ::)  ::)

Health Care is a disaster and we will need to either repeal it wholesale or do it all over again as everyone gets squashed with costs.

This FINREG Bill is a joke beyond belief.

The Stim Bill is a collosal failure and no kneepadding from dupes and useful idiots can mask that shit sandwich.

and on and on.

if you think obamna might go down as LBJ, perhaps.

And what is LBJ's legacy?  - death, failure, and wasteful programs that helped bankrupt the nation, which is exactly the road obama is on.

great point.

a black guy with the middle name "HUSSEIN" and a last name that rhymes with "OSAMA" manages to win the job, and enacts more impactful legislation than any single president in history... and he wasn't even born here.

He is seriously owning the shit out of repubs.  You have to agree with that, even if you disagree with 100% of his policies.  Passing whatever he wants, after destroying the war hero and the VPILF in the election.  And he's STILL at 48% approval on Gallup... Geez...

Why is it remotely impressive? The democrats control everything at the moment. I could have been elected President and passed whatever I wanted as well. But your slumping for this guy is starting to reach borderline infatuation, 240. The first thing that came to my mind when I just read that post of yours was how similar it is to the "tingle running up my leg" quote.  :-X

Quick, better log a single Thune post for every 300+ Palin/Obama-worshiping posts you make so that you can claim that you're a conservative.

240 = Julio.  This was from when Obama went to Ft. Meyers in Feb. 2009. I believe 240 was there and that he might be Julio.

Not to mention the study of how he came from no where, mobilized millions of volunteers and drew massive crowds.  The first grass roots volunteer based campaign that got a president elected.  Amazing stuff really.  Then he came in got health care reform, something dems have wanted since the 40's, and as such it'll never be repealed but only added to, to make it better.

Also don't forget 240 Obama is very likable and has great public appeal.  He hasn't slipped even more because of his likableness and his ability to engage mass audiences and mobilize thousands of people.  Regardless of what his position is in the polls now, once he kicks his re-election campaign into high gear it'll be tough to match Obama-mania and the mass crowds and coverage he commands.

Hey, you all know that I disagree with most of obama's legislation.  I didn't like healthcare, I didn't like finreg.  I sure as hell dislike amnesty and cap/trade.

Clinton had 2 years of dem congress and didn't manage a fraction of the impactful legislation that obama has delivered.

(note that I am able to remove emotion from the argument, and not evaluate the legislation - rather, just how much influence/change the guy managed to implement in only 2 years).

33,

if i was arguing "hey, this legislation rocks, dude!", that would be kneepadding.

I'm talking about from a social standpoint, from a historical study point... the guy might not have been born here, has a horrible name, is a minority with no experience, and manages to win over rove/mccain and clinton election machines.  Then he gets in and passes more legislation than just about any president ever, in 2 years.

No matter if you love or hate obama - you have to agree it's unreal.

That's because the  Dem party is now controlled by far left socialists willing to go off the cliff for the messiah.

in that case - obama is more convincing than clinton in terms of talking dems into risking their jobs for 'his vision'.

they're the most shrewd, crooked ppl on earth - and obama is talking them out of their jobs.  pretty hard task.
