This is just some more of my meaningless speculation, but…
Randy steered clear of any dealings with the Fed for quite a number of years, probably passing up more than one opportunity to make some decent cash in his post-wrestling years.
I was shocked to learn of his collaboration with WWE on the new action figure, which could very well lead to additional dealings.
Do you think it’s only coincidence that Savage agreed to this business arrangement after his father passed?
Angelo Poffo did an excellent job raising his two boys, who were probably too good for the wrestling business.
Always on time, always professional…maybe a little strange at times, but good & genuine people.
I have a feeling that Mr. Poffo was strict man in the sense that he stuck to his morals and principles.
I would suspect that Randy had plenty of conversations with his dad regarding what went down in the WWF.
I’m just wondering if Macho had an itch to do something like this for a while, but refrained on account of his dad.
Not that he took orders from Mr. Poffo, but maybe the patriarch had some influence of Savage “standing his ground” against Vince.
On a side note, I believe that Mattel were the ones to hash out the arrangement with Savage, so perhaps his dealings with WWE are only indirect.
Regardless, the fact remains that this is the first Randy Savage action figure released under the WWE banner in over 15 years.
