"Musilm" is hardly a race. Larget muslim country in the world is Indonesia. By muslim, people generally think arab. And all arabs are not muslims though the vast majority are. Once you dig in (and I have to because of my work), you realize that even the word "arab" doesn't stand for much. There's a lot of hatred between arabs themselves depending on the country, the social status, the religious leanings, etc... Pretty much the same if you talk about Africans (Afro-American are a different issue though I think), people from west, central and east Africa are very different and it gets even more complicated if you get into the french speaking parts and english speaking parts of Africa. Also, immigrants are not generally cream of the crop so we get the worse of those countries and cultures.

muslim = algeria/morocco = maghreb
black = cote d ivoire, mali, etc.
the success of an immigration depend on the quality of immigrant.
unfortunately for France, the black and people from maghreb who come in France are only motivated by the social help; and living like parasite.
A new fact in France it that people from maghreb who arrived in France during 70/80's are now complaining about the black.
in fact i think that our black are really different from your "african - american", our black are the zero degre of humanity, no brain, no intelligence, hater, lazy, really violent people, it's something to see.
